I agree with everything you've said aside from one statement " the Free-market and moral compass will win out"
As we've seen in 2008 and countless times before that, the Free-market cannot exist in the same plane as the moral compass, the two are mutually exclusive.
Should the Investment Banks, Shareholders of Multi-National Corporations ( and the CEO's + Board of Directors ) develop a moral compass then the Free-market would prevail: conclusively and infinitely.
Socialism is spawned by the lack of a moral compass. Bummer, looks like socialism is here to stay. I wish that was not the case.

Conservatives only care about a child until it is born. You support no policies to help those who may not have delivered a child because they weren't financially set. You are also pro death penalty so I guess the only life you care about is an unborn one who may be coming into a nightmare because they won't catch a break from those with your viewpoint.

You've been brainwashed to think "Socialism" is such a bogeyman. Though I don't advocate it, what would be so wrong about a society where everyone is "Socially" equal?

What's the name comment supposed to mean? African because I'm black. Atheist because I'm a freethinker. This is actually quite an anomaly in this country and I'm just as proud as you. Believe it or not I love you and all others human. That's because I neither believe in nor support any ideaologies that are exclusive but only inclusive. Thus, I h**e no one unless they have earned it personally.

Also, remember you can tell alot about a society by how it treats their worst off. I don't understand the humanism of conservatives as a whole. However, when it comes to me personally I'm liberal about some things and yet conservative about others but when it comes to other individuals I try to refrain from having an opinion just because they are doing something I wouldn't. Freedom means people have the right to be and think differently.

" I don't understand the humanism of conservatives as a whole." At first I thought you were pulling our legs. Then I realized you are talking about the dreaded Christians. And their stupid thinking that just because marriage has existed for eons for an express purpose is not what your atheism believes makes them bad and you good. Freedom belongs to Christians just as much as it does to you. My question to you is not why are you an atheist? My question to you is why do you detest Christians? Christianity existed LONG, LONG before you did. I'm not a Christian, but I hold the Christian faith in a place of honor. Since atheism is NOTHING, there's nothing to hold in honor. Methinks you are trying to start a fight about nothing, and I also think you were sent here expressly to do just that. Unfortunately, they sent the wrong person to distract us.

I h**e no one but I do think not just christianity but all religions have outlived their usefulness. Religions have been around for Ages and most of them were formed out of ignorance & superstition during less informed times. They all have the same story and even the same gods with different names. No one knows the answers to the questions that religion claims to have but a closed mind of absolute certainty won't help us find them. I'm an atheist because there hasn't been and still is no viable evidence to support the god claims. Until there is I don't see any other choice.

All your doing is pumping sand instead of substance.

“Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for liberty,
but it is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the
principles upon which Freedom can securely stand.”

The only foundation of a free Constitution is pure Virtue,
and if this cannot be inspired into our People in a greater
measure, than they have it now, they may change their
Rulers and the forms of Government, but they will not
obtain a lasting liberty. -John Adams-

By your statement here, you are implying that 95% of the worlds population is delusional, for having faith in something that is larger than YOU or I. Tell me please, that you see something amiss there.

Having faith, which is believing something despite the absence of proof/evidence is illogical. Religion is the only in our lives where we suspend logic and reason for it to make any sense. Even then, it still doesn't. Believing something, no matter how much doesn't make it true.

Jefferson would NEVER have said that had he seen 21st Century US government, would he? It's the most perverted system that is possible, bar none.

Franklin was right. Lighthouses save people. Churches don't save people - Christ saves people's souls, church or no church.

What do you call yourself doing? No one cares what you think about religion. No one is twisting your arm to be religious. Believing in NOTHING , no matter how much you don't believe anything, doesn't mean there is nothing there, does it? I'm not religious, but I'm not obsessed about it. You seem to have an obsession - I think that happens when one's mind is conflicted.
