I had a tin globe, about 10" in diameter from about that time that looked like that. Jordan was called T***s-Jordan & Israel Palestine.

True enough, maps do change. When I was younger I thought an elderly couple in the neighborhood were kidding when they stated they were born in Poland, emigrated from Germany and still kept in touch with friends and relatives in Russia. Turned out that was exactly the case, and except for the emigrations no one left the villages they were born in.
