In the kind of circumstances we are seeing with criminal cases, we are regularly seeing all kinds of situations where video is damning, we can see what it is that someone did with our own eyes, and a substantial majority of people will be weighing in and saying the defendant is guilty.
People understand what the term innocent until proven guilty in a court of law means...that said it remains that the only way most guilty defendants are going to get away with their crime and be declared innocent in the eyes of the law is if there were prosecutorial technicalities that interfere with the case, or someone on the jury can't be swayed that the crime was adequately proved.

And the smaller minority of people who are defending a defendant based on political loyalties can't be convinced under many circumstances...so innocence only applies to in the eyes of the law, not truly being innocent, meaning they did nothing or didn't do it at all.

Hillary was hounded for years with investigations, and the DOJ under trump took actions and applied relevant case consequences to the violations she was found guilty of, she was treated within the guidelines of how a dozen other similar cases were, no more, no less.
Trump and republicans outraged that she got away with her egregious crimes because they were merely misdemeanors, changed the laws to make documents mishandling a felony, the irony being trump comes under those felony statutes
