Actually. Emily, Jesus told us that when a person has fallen as far into sin as the L***q community and a******n advocates have, it is almost impossible for them to be saved and that prayer is not enough; it takes both prayer and fasting. How many Christians are willing to give up meals and participate in lengthy deep noetic prayer for those indulging in unrepentant sin? Tough question.

I feel a deep sorrow about it when I pray. I don't know about fasting, though. I believe it would be a health risk at this point...and I really doubt God would want me to cause myself harm over his decision.

Then we do our best by l remembering that we're only beggars telling other beggars where we found bread. It's very true not everyone can fast healthfully. It's often age related. T***hfully, I don't believe there are many healthy Christians capable of the discipline to pray & fast for the salvation of an unrepentant advocate of the L***Q and A******n communities.

If someone indicates that they will not stop sinning, how much fasting could we do? (Rhetorical question...)

You do realize that you can fast more than food?

For example, could you fast OPP for 40 days and replace that time saved with prayer?

What if the sinner keeps on sinning? Do we continue to love them even though they live with sin every day and plan to until they die?

When a friend in our neighborhood I really cared for told me he was going to begin living in a sexual relationship with another man, I had to decide what to do about keeping a friendship with someone who had chosen to live with sin every day of his life! I know we are told to love the sinner, and he said if I was going to love him, but h**e his sin, I should just ignore the sin and focus on my love for him. But I can't just ignore the sin part of his life. He told me that this is the way he is, and he will be "this way" until he dies.

What I decided to do was lessen the friendship to almost nothing, and pray for him to find his way out of his sinful lifestyle every day, which I am doing. That's the best I can come up with for this....
What if the sinner keeps on sinning? Do we continu... (show quote)

I think you put into practice exactly what I said. You seem to regret the conversion of a close friendship into a more distant one, as you should Dear Lady, but IMO you made the right choice. Do you h**e the man? Do you wish him ill? When you pray for him, are you asking for bad things to happen to him? Of course not! Your friend is the benefactor of h**e the sin but love the sinner.

To be honest, I don't believe that God would want me or anyone else to cause ourselves distress over someone else's sinning. It goes along with the "working your way into heaven" thing that I think is wrong. But praying that they might some day see the wrongness of their sins and save their souls seems like a good thing to do.

Thank you, Randy. I agree with your way of thinking. I wish the man well and hope and pray he someday sees the correct path that God laid out for him. I did tell him I will always be here for him to talk if he does want to change from sinning.... 🙂

I admit I do not fast when I pray. It would not hurt me.

I don't know, the Bible doesn't say. Lest we forget that even with prayer & fasting the results evidently aren't to successful. Eat that baloney dog sammich and go in peace.🥰
