Do you think people with bad credit deserve to buy house?? Buying a house is not a right, but a privilege!!

I'm sorry Proud, you're a nice person but hardships happen to us all and that can mess with things like our credit. I was 40 before I was able to buy a home. Just kept chipping away and a lot has to do with the state you live in.

The owners would need to be willing and there is no law that says that can't be done. However, a lot of owners who are selling their homes are relying on the equity in the home to buy bigger or better.

Actually no!! Shelter is a necessity.. That does not mean you buy a house you cant afford.. You rent an apt until you can afford to buy a house.. Until than, house is NOT a right..

I agree. In Ca, I know families of 2-3 sharing a house or up to 6 young people sharing apartments.

This sounds to me like a political scheme to help Biden in '24 so he can claim "the economy is great, just look at the rise in home sales".

proud, Everybody deserves to sleep indoors, and not starve to death. Giving a mortgage loan is a risk for the lender. I don't blame them for not giving a loan to those with a bad credit rating.

Through Fannie and Freddie your guvment controls mortgages. Your i***t Brandon is telling the banks they WILL give mortgages to risky people and they will raise rates on the good people to pay for the defaults. Again.

And purchasing properties requires a living wage that is high enough to make it achievable...
Do you think there is maybe a reason why home ownership is down in the US and Canada???

Sure. Fluctuating market. Those cycles occur. It’s starting to drop off in my area. This past month 2 houses went up for sale; both sold within a week.
