Who would ever think it.. My lovely better half was outraged this AM.. when adding a bit of salt to the fine morning meal she made.. I accored to her that she wanted some salt, tasting the salt in the table shaker. she hit the ceiling and told me the salt was not rea.. Had me taste it and yes, she was correct. The salt was not salty!!

The only possible explanation has to be that salt is now so valuable that adding non salt filler to the package is making money for the dastardly criminals who own the salt mines..

Wow, what to do in order to shut down the unscrupulous criminals who are doing this to the Americans who must have a bit of salt in order to eat the daily ration...

Darn.. I thought I could deal with anything but this is off the charts.. F**e salt.. so sad, so bad..

Question...does she buy no name salt or brand name iodized salt? S9metimes it's important to get a reliable brand even if it costs more. And yes our bodies need salt to function correctly it's important.

Morten is her brand... Maybe we should go to rock salt.. mined in eastern europe and bust it apart on the kitchen table.. so combining food with morning workout and filling the day with good vibes for all the salt loving critters in the area.

Or maybe no name salt.. that has it own attraction..

Salt that isn't salty. What a mystery. I must learn how this turns out. 50 some odd years ago my father had heart disease and had to restrict his sodium intake. He loved salt on his food, so they gave him a salt substitute that tasted like crap. Other than that, I have never heard of unsalty salt.

I once had a minor altercation over the use of salt.. my BP went up for the first time and doc gave me a long list of things to avoid, salt and coffee were more that I could deal with.. so the durn doc gave me meds to take and my BP became that of a teen ager... LOL... it was about the time they decided dropping eggs was not needed, so I had some doubt about the medical diet advice..

It was my reaction also.. but upon questioning the idea and tasting it.. it was real.. and of course not her fault..

Maybe I should simply have more bacon.. I am pretty sure that would work...

Salt is a big deal with blood pressure. I bet you did not know that salt is r****t ? Well it is. We all need salt in our diet to live, but with processed foods we get many many times the salt we need, and that not including the salt we add ourselves. Besides sweating our kidneys eliminate our excess salt. Here is where the r****m comes in.

It is all about how much salt your ancestors got in their diet. Our white folk ancestors living in northern climes got plenty of salt. Our ancestors used it to preserve food and since we lived in colder climates, we did not sweat our salt out most of the year. So our ancestors evolved kidneys that more easily eliminated excess salt.

Black people ancestrally tended to live in tropical climates, so they sweated a lot. They also lived where constant rains washed salt out of the soil and their food, unless they lived near the coast. Their ancestors kidneys conserved salt. Fast forward to today and White and B***k A******ns primarily live in a salt rich world. B***k A******ns kidneys for the most part are set to conserve salt, which means they have higher rates of high blood pressure than your average over weight W***e A******n.

MMM, seems very reasonable.. I had heard long ago that b****s suffered more from High BP and kidney problems.. but this is the first explanation I have read. and Yes it seems an honest explanation..

I would not call it r****t however, r****m is derogatory.. and your explanation is simply factual based on ancestors living in different climates in the world.. I am very much OK with it.. But may yet see a counter explanation. have no idea what that could be..

As you mention, I think overweight is the biggest health problem of all these days... even school kids are chubby..

Are you being for real Perma? I've noticed I'm using more salt than usual myself. Has it really gotten this far out of hand?
