Manning,
I don't see how you can predict this.
I don't think Russia is out to play Roman Empire and conquer Europe.
You must have a crystal.ball or something.

Russia may not be too enthusiastic about what Putin wants, but it is Putin's ambition to restore the Soviet Empire and the forward blocking points that make it easier to defend against the west. When that empire crashed, they lost all 8 of these blocking points, and Putin has so far fought to get back some five of them or more, and getting beyond the Ukraine adds two more. Look up Peter Zeihans lecture on Ukraine in YouTube to get more details.

Then disband NATO and peace in Europe has a chance.

O yes, under the red f**g inside of two years, LR! The nations defeated one by one without the unity of NATO, and Putin achieves his ultimate goals. Very bad idea! You want to give Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania back to Putin? I don't!

The specter of nuclear war is clouding many minds and looking for appeasement avenues, something like Nevil Chamberlin did before WWII. That is the route for huge encouragement to the aggressor Putin, and shows our weakness and inability to stand and fight if needed. At some point, we must back Putin down from his threat.

Giving Putin the Dumbas and the Crimea is to shackle Ukraine with the lesser part of their nation, and the inability to farm their fields well because of Russia holding back on the fertilizer needed, and all of west will be feeling the shortage of Russian potash, and ultimately their wheat, and the Ukraine will see starvation.

We must stand firm and make Putin back down, or else be subjected to nuclear blackmail over and over again. Red rule is not a nice walk in the park.
