Just a little something for my buddies who are gun nuts..
Why do some people defend semi automatic rifles in the hands of general public in the USA?
You have it backwards. I don’t have to defend why I should be allowed to own a semi-automatic rifle. You have to demonstrate why I shouldn’t be allowed to. And “I h**e guns” is not a reason.
By the way, do you have any idea how long semi-automatic rifles have been around? Of course you don’t. Facts confuse the issue. The first semi-automatic, rifle was introduced in 1885. Yep. 134 years ago. Winchester began making the excellent model 1905, semi-auto rifle in, as the name implies, 1905. It was magazine fed, and accepted “hi capacity” magazines.
**** But know this.. while I am not for gun confiscation, I remain adamant about gun regulation..
In all those years, countless civilians have owned semi-automatic rifle, and it never caused a problem. Which makes the idea that semi-automatic rifles are responsible for the events going on today even more ludicrous.

Yet you defend FJB and the l*****ts and their anti freedom, anti American agenda.
You are simply a stupid, lying, cowardly, hypocrite.
But that has already been well established.

Lord have mercy.... how could such dumb replies be generated from a simple article on history of guns..
You guys truly are the problem America faces..
But I had decided to not post for a few days and this jumped out and bit me before I could dismiss it..
Now, what did you think of the gun itself.. revolutionary? adequate? not worth a look?
Do you any opinion at all other then stone the poster??

The problem is you post your support of the Second Amendment, which flies in the fact of your support for Liberal Democrat politicians whose positions on firearms are antithetical to the ones you just stated. Little cognitive dissonance there.
You say you support the right to own semi auto firearms then v**e for and support people who wish to destroy that right.

WOW! Common sense!
""In all those years, countless civilians have owned semi-automatic rifle, and it never caused a problem. Which makes the idea that semi-automatic rifles are responsible for the events going on today even more ludicrous.""
40,000 people die each year due yo firearms. If this was a disease, ee would do something about it. The 2ed Admendment states "in order to provide for a m*****a' we are allowed to keep firearms. It doesn't say anything about blowing away kids in schools.

I think you are contending that Dems want to confiscate our guns.. that is not true and never going to happen.. but looking for a solution so some of the k*****gs and lowering the death count should be a concern for every responsible minded person in our country.. Not to even mention those sitting in washington and pretending to run the country..
I expected to get some back and forth about the changes in mental outlook on violence ETC.. but it seem that I am seen as the dark horseman of anarchy.. remember, I have repeatedly said I own a number of guns and have been around guns for all my life.. members of my family have concealed carry permits and the state is one of the most liberal and armed in the country.. guns are very common in Minnesota and very few have any notion to end gun ownership.. while many who have suffered lose via gun events.. accident, suicide or murder.. will hope and dream of the removal of all guns everywhere, that is not going to happen..
