It is ghoulish and 50 years from now we will judge the decisions women made during this period based on the current morals and values of those making the judgments. We will think of this period in our history as totally devoid of morals and ethics. Women wanted control of their bodies... they could have just said no, or used protection to prevent getting pregnant. My body, my choice... that's what I said about the C***D v*****e and people accused me of trying to k**l Grandma and Grandpa. There is an asymmetry in the way each side insists on accountability for their actions. We base ourselves on ethical and moral values. We have them, but some people don't. As I pointed out in an earlier post, almost everyone refers to the unborn child as a baby. I have never heard a pregnant woman call the child developing inside of her as her fetus.

Having said that, I would never like to see things revert to the old days of back alley a******ns, in unsanitary conditions, that put both mother and child at great risk. And there are times when an a******n is necessary to protect the life of the mother. These instances are very far and few. But they exist. When someone makes a blanket declaration that all a******n is ungodly, unholy, or evil, that's when they lose me. Let God be the judge. And may they be forgiven. It is a terrible thing to have to spend the rest of one's life feeling guilty for a mistake of their youth. They also need our compassion and forgiveness as well. Instead of castigating we should be educating. Work toward changing the law. But currently, the law is, as a result of the Dobbs decision, to let each state determine its own way of dealing with a******n. This is as it should be under our system of Federalism. The federal government should not be in the business of saying who can and who can't have an a******n. It was the left that pushed for a******n to be available throughout the country for any women requesting one on demand.

As a recap, I started this thread about the preposterousness of calling "Pro Choice" NOT "Pro A******n".

Then I was attacked by MANY that seemingly forgot the mainline issue including YOU for expressing MY opinion, focusing on my adjectives rather than thoughts. I admit some of them were harsh.

I thought likeminded people would actually understand what I was referring to but I misjudged it. T***h is, I don't care.

Then, yesterday, another completely NEW person (ricktlomi) weighs in on MY THREAD regarding the mainline topic replying to ME and YOU call ME out in a very derogatory fashion as I was responding to HIM (and NOT YOU).
