Speaking of cognitively challenged, you don't know much about balloons and their capabilities, do you? Of course not. The Chinese have successfully tested numerous weapons platforms on these balloons, including some missiles. They are a lot closer than satellites. They can be used to carry biological and chemical warfare agents also, and as a launch platform for weaponized drones. You know, weaponized drones. Kind of like you except for the weaponized part.

The real reason the government put the balloon down in water was they were afraid that there was a possibility is might have had a dirty bomb on board. If you think sending a balloon to the U.S. was an errant mistake think again. If high altitude satellites could have achieve their goals they would not have bothered. This was an exercise to see if a device could be delivered somewhere in our country. Don't excuse yourself for lack of common sense because this is what is driving humanity into a downward spiral, you need to think about things before you type.
