Yes it is. That is why it is important for each of us to specify if our statements are anecdotal, personal, provable fact, or simply an opinion.
The fact seems to be that you have no credible idea how many, if any at all, of those gunshot wounds came from kids picking up weapons left out by their parents. Your statement is based on unfounded assumptions, is it not?

My most remarkable memory of parental negligence involved a little girl who was shot in the left side of her jaw by her brother. I don't recall all the details, but the older brother picked it up off a table and his sister was shot. I was the unfortunate nurse who had to start an IV on her after the initial one had infiltrated. I do remember the parents arguing loudly in the hallway about who should have been watching who and why was a loaded gun left on the table. I was a 1st year nurse then and had just passed my boards about a year before and frequently was pulled to different floors to start difficult IVs.
WHY are you getting so edgy with me on this topic? I v**ed for Trump, twice, and am pro-gun and pro first amendment, Very much so.

I apologize if I seemed edgy. Way WAY too many people post ridiculous opinions and statistics as proven facts on OPP, and my usual reaction to something sounding a little hinky is to ask for supporting evidence.
NOTHING EVER excuses a firearm being left unlocked and unattended. NOTHING. But statistically, kids getting hurt by such actions are extremely rare. When one does occur, the MSM immediatedly spends a great deal of effort making sure everyone is told that it is the guns fault, aided and abetted by Republicans. It is then repeated ad nauseam by the left wingers on OPP.
Therefore, I asked what evidence you based your statement upon. Again, I apologize if I came across as accusatory.

Put the parents into jail for life, the children separated, and put into the foster care system. People should be punished irrespective of the consequences!

Absolutely unequivocally NOT!!!

You want to separate these children and be placed in foster care. What kind of cruel i***t are you! Rhetorical question. We all know you are an i***t!

Allow the main financial provider (assuming father) to continue his employment; however, must be confined to jail during non working hours.

Millions of Americans leave guns lying around the house because they are afraid of the boogie man and cower at the thought of not having a piece available to blast their imagined attacker. These guns far more often than being used for defense are misused, stolen, accidentally discharged or fall into the hands of children. Statistics clearly show that people in households with firearms are more at risk of being k**led or injured by gunshots than households without firearms. This is indisputable. So if the same kid grabbed moms car keys and accidentally ran over his brother or cut off his hand with Dads table saw should mom or dad go to jail? I guess the answer is a matter of the degree of neglect and negligence. One thing for sure, neither should ever be allowed to keep firearms again.

Q***rvyn, prove the following statement!

《Statistics clearly show that people in households with firearms are more at risk of being k**led or injured by gunshots than households without firearms.》

I believe that is a lie perpetrated by l*****ts c*******t Democrats to justify gun control. No one that I know has had any problems with guns like this.

Thank you. I agree 100%. Worst mistake in Chicago and New York was to do away with "stop and Frisk; and the i***ts they keep electing, much to their detriment. People who commit crimes with guns should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and NOT turned loose with no bail by their infamous prosecuting attorneys. It's a disease that needs to be stopped!
