Jesus laid out plans that we should follow. It is like a father telling his kid not to do something, but the kid does it anyway. We are born with a sin nature so we are good sinners. If we could live like Jesus did and not sin then He wouldn't have had to go to the cross. But there is a certain something that is not in us. That is the self control not to sin. There was a poppa fly and a momma fly and a baby fly that landed on a pile of poop. They ate and ate until they were full. The poppa fly tried to fly but he was to heavy. He saw a broom handle sitting against the wall. He said I will climb up the handle and jump off and fly away. He climbed and jumped and flapped his wings and fell to his death. The momma fly said I am lighter than the poppa fly so I will climb the handle and jump off and fly away. The momma fly jumped and fell to her death. The baby fly said I am the lightest so I will jump off the handle and fly. so the baby jumped off flapped his wings and fell to his death. The moral of the story is, never fly off the handle when you are full of s**t.

"Jesus laid out plans that we should follow." Yes and no, in my eyes. The spirit is to lead in everything and we are to totally rely on grace. That is the plan, that is what we follow.

Grace.....salvation by faith not by works lest any man boast. We are saved by grace!! There are those that still place salvation on some works of the commandments, or doing good works!
Good works are a by product of the believer. Following (or trying too) the commandments are a by product of the believer seeking to please God.

We have a sin nature. That is what we do best. We are like an apple that falls from a tree. We age we get rotten then we die. You tell me one person that does not go through that. The wages of sin is death. Everybody is a sinner so we all die. God gave us directions how to live life. Sometimes we do and other times we don't. The flesh profits nothing. Go to any graveyard and see. Your dead I am dead everybody is dead. Get in line your turn will come. If you can't see this you are deluding yourself. If God doesn't save us we are doomed to eternal damnation. It seems the so called Christians build a utopia in this world and they kid themselves. Brainwashing is a dangerous thing in Christianity. Your dead I'm dead face it we need God to save us.

The word of God clearly states, we are not of this world, but live in the world (Christians). There is great joy in life having a relationship with God. But.......since we live in a world of sin, bodies that break and hurt, emotions ect. All men suffer, fell pain, emotional hurt...ect.
The blood of Jesus, the sacrificial lamb by faith in the believer, cleanses us of all unrightousness, but as Paul lived in suffering, pain, he desired to be out of this world and be with the Lord. As you stated, there is no utopia in this world ever since the fall of man in the garden.
