Just reconsidering your question/title, Bob...
It should be shriekingly obvious to you, that because you have the privilege of living in the United States, you are completely free of all and any religion you do not choose to embrace.
The inseparable connection of democracy, freedom of religion, and the other forms of freedom articulated in our Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights (especially the 1st Amendment), became the political and legal basis of this new nation at its founding.
If hearing about a religion(s), or seeing something that pertains to a religion(s) deeply offends your sensibilities, you have the freedom of choice of not listening or not looking.
Exercising those freedoms should serve to curtail a lot of wailing, whining, and complaining, and you will conserve a lot of energy as you do so.

So he doesn't care about seeing God but how does he feel about burning continually for eternity because he doesn't want God or want to see Him is the question. God is all things good, the devil is all things bad and negative. This earth is the closest to heaven he'll ever get and it's got so much misery it takes your breath away.
