But imo, he's one of those people who "smile" at you while calling you a name. I've seen him go after people who disagree with him, and after several paragraphs of name calling he ends his rant with "Have a nice day." And then a cute picture of a deer or a cat or something.
One thing I don't think you are being is passive aggressive. You are always respectful and straight with people and say what you mean without playing games, like so many on here do. In fact, I perceive you as one of the more thoughtful and respectful posters on OPP.

Passive aggressiveness is getting angry, but not visibly showing it right away. It's "getting back" at that person, but later on when the other person doesn't expect it. It's indirectly expressing hurt or negative feelings rather than openly addressing them at the time the person became hurt or angry. Bernie is always direct. Tells it like it is and doesn't play games.
I can see how you thought what you did with Bernie's statement, but I don't think he was meaning to "get back" at someone later on, he was just going to be more careful in the future about saying things....
