It's such a bizarre shift...
Even a few months back when we had our big lockdown people were very supportive of the government... (even bought f**gs and banners thanking the Party and volunteers when it was over)..

The big meeting in October had people cheering because it was announced that c***d restrictions would be eased nationally...
The opposite happened... Municipal and provincial governments don't want to take responsibility for outbreaks...
People are just tired of it...
And the government aid isn't going to be enough...

And when Chinese get uppity, they really get uppity... Now that students are involved, the federal government is starting to worry...
It's such a bizarre shift... br Even a few months ... (show quote)

There's a lot of hornets in that nest.
I think that if most of the Chinese rise up, and don't give up, it could go south for the party.

Maybe...
A good 10% of the population are party members...
And a lot of people support the Party... Even singing the anthem and waving party f**gs at many of the protests...
I predict local officials are going to be sacrificed...

That’s more like what I would expect.
Too bad the police here refused to do that last summer.
Best luck to you.

The difference is that most of those people getting taken down by the police are violent or destructive...

As bad as our American political system is, we can v**e our bastards out, every couple of years. It does restrain our fearless leaders, at least a little from screwing us over royally. Well theoretically anyway. Of course this last midterms we were too stupid to do it very much.

In China there is no even remotely potential alternative to the CCP.. It sounds as if you are saying local officials will be the scapegoats. Perhaps that will let enough pressure off the kettle. As long as not too many new incidents happen.

That's exactly what I'm saying...

China removes inept officials...
Much lie Trump did with his picks...
Results are what matters...

However, national leaders set general policies. Those policies can be wrong and destructive. To blame local officials who are charged with implementing and carrying out the nuts and bolts of those policies, I don't know, is to me an evasion of responsibility by upper echelons.

America found out that lock downs ultimately cause more damage than they are worth. It was painfully long for us to learn that and a lot of good people suffered from the lock down N**is. In China, with less recourse for the citizenry to oppose bad policies, the government can stick to mistaken paths much longer.

No...
Local officials often go overboard..
Policies vary province to province and municipality to municipality...
The federal government isn't responsible for the actions of the provincial or municipal government...
Especially if they overstep ..

Geez, sounds like ancient Chinese tribalism is alive and strong. Ancient War lords still rule, despite modern C*******m (or because of it)!
