Well, there goes the fake news narrative… This video will be buried by the mainstream media in one day! Gun control is turning all law-abiding citizens into helpless defenseless victims. The criminals still have guns but now they have easier targets. https://defiantamerica.com/breaking-the-identity-of-the-shooter-that-killed-10-people-at-a-walmart-in-virginia-is-revealed-he-doesnt-fit-the-mainstream-media-narrative-video

And what's the mainstream narrative? If you look at mass shooters there isn't "one" type but a multiple of types with the only common thread how easy it is to get a semi-automatic weapon...that's the mainstream narrative and one conservatives dare not do anything about!

Well we conservativves come from a place that if you kill people, you get killed, but democrats rather release them killers back on the streets. Bad guns, bad, bad guns. Those poor, poor people who are doing the killing had nothing to do with it, they aren't responsible, the gun jumped into their hands and started firing it's self. You are not getting my gun. Guns save lives!!!!!!

What's to do?

You mentioned earlier that semi-automatic weapons needs to be 'banned'. I asked you exactly how passing a law will stop criminals from obtaining semi-automatic handguns/rifles? Please explain how that will work.

No, the common thread is mental illness.

Aren't most of these "mass shooters" mentally ill people rather than criminals. I know, after the shooting, they're criminals but before, they hadn't broken any laws. Semi automatic weapons make it easier to kill a lot of people quickly. I heard a radio program, the guest said most mass shootings are over in minutes. Usually, the shooter kills themselves. Law enforcement hardly ever arrives in time to stop the shooting. In rate cases, a civilian has a gun and kills the shooter. So yeah, criminal gangs would still get AR type weapons, but maybe it would be harder for the guy that flips out? My opinion, I know you disagree and I can see the point of farmers needing some type of weapon like this.

Everyone needs a weapon like this.

The semi-automatic rifle is an excellent self defense weapon: It is light and easy to operate.

And according to the CDC there are a minimum of 50,000 defensive gun uses annually. So gun control laws simply impede the good citizen from having the capability to defend themselves.

We used to institutionalize the mentally Ill and the criminally mentally ill, now we just sat on loose on society, after all they have rights- its the rest of us who dont.

You hypocritical POS. Dead is dead. You dumbass racist Democrats release killers back into the minority neighborhoods to kill again. You elect trust fund brats, like Fetterman who voted on the parole board multiple times to let murders out when no one else on the board did. Fetterman has also proposed to empty the jails. You guys are a joke. The more criminals you release (cashless bail) the more innocent citizens need armed.

A study just completed by some big shot at one of the major medical schools, can't remember which, found some common characteristics with a majority of these mass shooters. Most were heavy THC users and very paranoid. Also, a lot of red flags brought up, after the fact.

The common thread among mass killers is they are mentally disturbed.
Neither semi-auto firearms nor the availability of weapons in general have anything to do with driving them crazy.
They were psychopaths or sociopaths, and likely drug abusers, long before they committed the crimes.
Some of them were driven insane when they were children.
Blaming the weapon they use for the crimes they commit is completely illogical.

Sorry, Tippy, you are mistaken.
Several major studies by university criminologists and CPRC have revealed the reality of GDU incidents.

USCCA: Mass Shootings Facts and Fiction

Unpublished CDC Study Confirms More than 2 Million Defensive Handgun Uses Annually
An unpublished Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study confirms Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck’s findings of more than two million defensive handgun uses (DGUs) per year.

Since the early 1990s, Kleck has maintained that there is a minimum of 760,000 DGUs annually. However, that is his low estimate. Kleck and research partner Marc Gertz have contended the actual number is closer to 2.5 million, reported Breitbart.

Kleck reaffirmed his numbers on February 17, 2015, explaining that while plenty of naysayers have criticized his findings, none have been able to offer empirical evidence to counter them.

Now, a CDC study conducted on data from 1996, 1997, and 1998 has been uncovered. The study, which was never released to the public, shows approximately 2.46 million DGUs per year.

One has to ask why the studies were left unpublished?

Kleck summarized the CDC findings:

In 1996, 1997, and 1998, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducted large-scale national surveys asking about defensive gun use (DGU). They never released the findings, or even acknowledged they had studied the topic. I obtained the unpublished raw data and computed the prevalence of DGU. CDC’s findings indicated that an average of 2.46 million U.S. adults used a gun for self-defense in each of the years from 1996 through 1998 – almost exactly confirming the estimate for 1992 of Kleck and Gertz (1995). Possible reasons for CDC’s suppression of these findings are discussed.

On April 20, 2018, Reason magazine quoted Kleck’s reaction to the unpublished CDC findings; he explained that a figure of 2.46 million DGUs a year “implies that guns were used defensively by victims about 3.6 times as often as they were used offensively by criminals.”

According to Reason magazine, for those who wonder exactly how purely scientific CDC researchers are likely to be about issues of gun violence that implicate policy, Kleck notes that “CDC never reported the results of those surveys, does not report on their website any estimates of DGU frequency, and does not even acknowledge that they ever asked about the topic in any of their surveys.”

While the surveys specifically omitted weapons used during the course and scope of duty, Law Enforcement Today’s editor-in-chief, Jim McNeff, provided details that support these findings.

In his article, “Institutional Injustice Is a Lie,” McNeff provided personal evidence:

While working undercover I have experienced potential lethal encounters on no fewer than three occasions. First, I had a shotgun pulled on me by a (suspect) who wanted me out of his “hood” in Downey. Second, I had a person try to carjack my undercover vehicle until I pulled my handgun to defend myself in Santa Ana. Third, I had to pull my weapon on a person who challenged my presence by threatening great bodily injury since I was on “his turf”—which was the public housing projects in Los Angeles.

During each occasion McNeff was dressed in civilian clothing. The suspect in each case was not the intended target of the undercover assignment. Thus, bad guys in these gang-infested areas viewed him as an unarmed “victim.” Yet, he was armed with a handgun and able to defend himself during each crime.
