Trying to capture a will-of-the-wisp such as the feeling one gets when coming home, the sense of belonging, the feeling of safety, a satisfying and comforting ambiance, the oncoming belief that everything is OK, and all is right with the world, they are all a part of it.

But when thinking about the whole nation today, there is a strangeness feeling, as if there is something wrong in the air, on the ground, or shaking under the ground. It is highly disturbing, out of the ordinary, even alarming, and most certainly unlike it was in past years. Sensitive noses can even detect the smell of fear in the wind, the unspoken reaction to others around us as if they were not the friendly people they used to be, not just the fear of the p******c we all have had, it is different, a feeling of isolation and uncertainty.

It should not be that way. We are being robbed somehow of our heritage, our patriotism, even love of our fellows. Why? What is happening to America that this miasma can be sensed almost every time we go out?

Polarization of our politics play a central role, as does the realization that half of our population is strongly hostile to the other half, even calling us terrorists! This other half is deliberately fostering the dissolution of our government, our economy, our well-being, and our valued customs, traditions and institutions, what's more, they are weakening our military and our police.

No wonder the land smells of fear and puzzlement that so many of our citizens seem to have suddenly discovered a wholly new way of thinking and acting, and an ideology to buttress it mentally. The ideology seems to center on Marxism, which is so far away from our normal American way of thinking and doing, that it is indeed making strangers of us all. It is as if they want it all, for nothing in return. No work, just handouts.

Then too, there have been some very odd events in the last years, in principle because of how the 2020 e******n turned out, never mind the further oddity of the e******n of an i***t in the place of a Doer, allowing hidden hands to call the shots. We went from plenty to scarcity, from knowing to dumbness, and so many other demoralizing situations that are unbelievable to think about. They are spending us into bankruptcy.

There has been no better nation in the world than the one I grew up in, with a Constitution and the right to change it, the freedoms and liberty we have had by the grace of God, and the generations of incomparable patriots that have defended us till now.

Soon, I will be gone, but I h**e to leave this nation in such dire straits, and the world too, obviously. But, there isn't much besides wielding the pen I could have done anyway. There is not time enough left for me to contemplate the needed bold actions in aid of our country. I trust that others will act with great courage and fortitude and rescue our country from the heathens, the savages at the gates, and the t*****rs in our midst.

God Bless America,

Our children have already been robbed of so much that can never be replaced, but thanks be to God, enough parents are standing up, speaking out, simply more or less beating back. The men and women who stepped forth in 1941,had children and grandchildren who are br@ve and hopeful as were
the families that brought them up. We may not see the change because we’ll be gone but we can live out our last days with hope because of these young people and in spite of Biden’s i*****l i*******ts from every country on this planet. It isn’t his plan because he’s not bright enough to put together such a dumb plan but all those in every country who have studied Lenin can do it. Let’s just see that our people grow up the right way.

Have missed your posts, this one as all are is on target. I also, now that I'm older and have been dealing with health issues. I fear for the young. I know my years in service meant something then. Now all I have is my voice and v**e. I can still teach my grand and great-grandchildren to love God and America. Try to give them the sk**ls they will need in this new world. Wish things were different, but have to face the enemy that is.

I know the feeling when you say your years in Service meant something then. Now I feel like the 100 year old World War Two vet who broke down and wept when he said, "We did all that for THIS??" When I thibnk of so many of us who took our oath seriously and put our lives on the line to "protect and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic" I have to admit that I also shed a tear or two. With him, for him and for all of us.

I salute you, Sarge, our service in uniform did mean something, and I too fear for our children, but be advised,
with all you have to offer, you are worth much more to us than just a voice and a v**e.

Yes, I can grieve for the massive loss in our nation, and the betrayal of thousands and thousands of servicemen who gave their best to the nation thinking that they were preserving the American Way, only to find out that new generations of our citizens have been and are now very quick to throw it all away for a global Utopian dream, and the membership in a group that h**es this country and its steadfast citizens.

We veterans are perhaps the most sorrowful of all staunch Americans to see and h**e how things are going and for very good reasons. It is now up to those new generations to either defend the nation, or to allow it to be torn apart to make way for some form of dictatorship and reduction to the rank of second-class nation. This destruction is what I would take up arms to prevent as forcefully as I could muster...and, I know how to k**l a snake!

Manning, I looked at OPP today hoping to see something like what you have written. I seldom come on any more because I just can't bear to read the tripe of the Democrat party apologists as our country and way of life is being dismantled and destroyed before our eyes. Thank you for your always clear-eyed observations and wisdom. Deb
