If it was shot down bt the Navy, which I doubt it was probably by some teenager who said something like this: Watch this!

The United States Navy does not give addle-brained, untrained "teenagers" access to the complex computerized launch system - the firing controls, on their lethal missile armed ships.
Only enlisted, well trained US Navy personnel would be allowed on such a combat Missile ship, and if qualified (after training), to fire the rockets, they would still be under close supervision by superior officers.
It is established fact that the TWA 800 passenger plane was shot down while a testing exercise of the U.S. Navy's Aegis Missile system was taking place in the immediate area in which the plane was flying after it's take off from the JFK Airfield.
Original Navy radar tapes show a missile like object "heading straight for TWA 800" that night.

Incredibly stupid timing and place for military "live" drills, as it was a p**********l ree******n year for Bill Clinton, and the Summer Olympic Games were starting in Atlanta, Georgia the following week, causing an increase in visiting planes full of fans and athletes who did not want to hear a plane had just been shot down... and the New York City air corridor is always one of the busiest in the world.
Initially, that night, there were multiple eye witnesses being interviewed who saw a rocket or missile streaking upward into the TWA plane, then a giant fireball and the plane fell into the ocean off Long Island, breaking in two, as it did so. I watched the TV coverage for hours.
By the next day, most of the films, videos and eye witnesses were no longer being shown as the FBI shut it down.

Blade. Sorry that was a “story” sounded good didn’t it. It started shutting everyone up. I am an electrical design engineer and it couldn’t figure out how that was true. Those valves are intrinsically safe, they can’t produce a spark. No spark no boom!!!

I'm glad to hear that. I remember what I saw and heard via cable news that night, and never believed that an internal explosion brought the plane down.
