You are too kind. I believe a crime committed using a gun is an automatic 5 years in addition to the sentence for the crime - no parole for this, no 'time off for good behavior' - 5 years hard time at a federal penitentiary.

I believe that people who have been deemed as mentally ill already appear on the NICS checks??

Agreed

Right. The more guns the better. Just open more mental clinics. 🙄

If the teacher had a gun in class it may have ended differently

No if your arrested for any crime and you have a gun that's not yours you stay in jail. 90% of the gangs carry ILLIGAL guns not belonging to them. If your arrested. Traffic tickets you don't go to jail. Unless it's DUI and you shouldn't be carrying a gun drunk.

In California if you violate your parole, they tack on one year for every bullet in your house.

Public money pays for these things.
Republicans are against these things and believe private schools are the answer.
Schools that the public will then pay for out of their own pockets.
On top of what they already pay .
Who in the fack is hector bayate ???

Your statement that the government paid for the schools just proves how truly uneducated you are. The tax payers ultimately pay for everything the government does. The government has never given anything to anybody that it didn't first take away from someone else. I'm probably wasting my time

Um,
This is a purely delusional thought.
Desantis is is already writing bills to stifle your 1st Amendment Rights.
You are losing your rights apparently more than you know.
Freedom and Liberty is fleeting .
Like the Ants on Solzhenitsyns tea cup rim
Circling endlessly , you will be free with all the liberty you’ll need.
Stay on the rim .

Milosia2. Could you list those bills please? Then we can send that to Biden’s “T***h Commission”.
HAAHAHAHAHA

But they don’t put you in jail in the first place. If they do, they let you out soon.

Maybe, if they were competent, you’re right.

15 states have "Red F**g" laws that allow a person to report someone who threatens them or who poses a threat to the community and who owns weapons. That person is evaluated and if it is felt that this person does, indeed, pose a risk or threat it is presented to a judge who decides if taking that person's weapons is warranted. It is reported by these states that gun violence has dropped by as much as thirty percent. Additionally, shootings of estranged spouses or girlfriends has dropped over 50%.

The decision to remove the guns is done through the courts and not on the word of some citizen. It is a new law first implemented in Colorado and has experienced some push back as one might imagine it would but details are being worked out and it looks like it will fly and expand. It seems like a bright spot in the do-nothing world of gun reform and the results are promising.

Actually I'm pro gun so after saying that I think this is a good idea. Politions don't address the nuance of gun ownership. Dems want to take them away from everyone and conservatives fight for the opposite side as it is a right in our constitution. So the problem with gun ownership is the mentally ill and criminals should not be allowed to buy guns or own them. If you pass a law like that there's a fine line that has to be strictly enforced. The courts can be over zealious or not strong enough. I think we all agree that those people should not have guns. So therein is the issue.

You are right. C*******m and Socialism are both to the left of political center. Please note, too, that on the right side of that mid point we have F*****m and N**iism. Just another point showing the problems of extremism in either direction.

Your statement that social ALWAYS leads to c*******m has not proven to be true. The socialistic aspects found in all of the Western world and industrialized countries are integral to their workings and to their success and have no similarities or leanings toward c*******m. Remember that anything that is done that helps the public and does not have a profit motive is socialistic. This covers everything from school lunch programs to the local fire department and thousands of other things that make American life better and prosperity a realizable goal.

You can claim that the right is for "T***h, Justice and the American Way" but the actions of the right tell the world that their goals are the exact opposite. Denying the validity of e******ns, denying the right to v**e to "selected" groups of citizens, v**e count manipulations, gerrymandering, ignoring the constitution, attempting c**ps to o*******w the government and on and on is what tells the story, not what Ted Cruz says to Sean Hannity. All of these steps that have been taken by the right are steps leading to the dissolution of the constitution and to the installation of an authoritarian rule.

That does not describe a political philosophy that would result in a country that I would recognize or condone.

Step one would be the institution of comprehensive background checks to take place over a 3 or 4 day waiting period before the gun sale would take place.

The government DID NOT pay for schools, books, teachers salaries. What were you smoking? You do. Private schools, not much better the civilian is still stuck with the bill. So if it's gonna be that way why not home school? Then teach REAL HISTORY, REAL SCIENCE, REAL MATH not the crap that they are getting today. My daughter skipped two grades because she was homeschooled and knew incredible amounts compared to her classmates.

There was no organized attempted c**p.
The right seems to care about law and order and the constitution, the left doesn't.
I don't know what the difference between f*****m and n**ism is.

Your definition of socialism is very loose, I would describe those things as the responsibility of the government. Roads, bridges, power grids, etc.

Minimum wages, free Healthcare, etc are more about socialism. Yes socialism does Always lead to c*******m.

I'm assuming that you have never been to a c*******tic country. They are horrific.
