I can agree with you that making the industry into a fully monopoly was a huge mistake. and the owning of the FDA by that monopoly made it happen..

Some of those were halted by restrictions on the making of the product.. which may be fine in the longer scope of things.. But formula which is not made in USA does not have the safe guards we have long used..

I maintain that the overriding problem was the limited personnel of the FDA and the refusal to allow exemptions to our own demands on the production of the product..

No, LPR... that garbage, so pushed by alt-right is simply more lies to anger the already enraged anti-choice segment of our society..

Also, if I recall correctly, that proposal made not new rules. all the points of law were already existing in our day to day laws.. At least something was off kilter.. the law would not have accomplished anything at all it was only the name which was used to driver emotions..

Why do you bother responding to this liar? The problem simply put is government. Abbot had the contract with the FederaL govt, this guarantee allowed Abbot to sell at a much reduced price and limit competition. Two babies got sick and Abbot had a voluntary recall. Then, Bidenโ€™s FDA swoops in and shuts them down. The contamination was found to be open jugs of water used to mix with the formula. This had nothing to do with tariffs or Canada. Remember; perm is not only a liar heโ€™s not very bright. The same can be said of petey or wussguru.

J, the reason Abbot had to shut down the plant when it failed inspection. if the FDA had been properly staffed, inspections would have been much more often and more detailed the problem would never existed.. with abbot and co making 80% of baby Formula sold in the US, I can see no excuse for them needing months to reopen production..

If you doubt the reality of the Canada situation.. go and read the links I provided..

Seems you trumpsters are truly getting desperate.. I the orange god you made losing his luster? even to the die hards sending him spending money?

Just a fillin to my original post. from the same link...

BIDEN TAKING ACTION: The first flights of infant formula from Europe, authorized by President Biden to relieve a deepening U.S. shortage, will arrive in Indiana this weekend, the White House announced Friday.

House GOP leaders were among the 192 Republicans who Wednesday v**ed against providing $28 million in aid to the FDA to address the shortage of baby formula โ€” within days of criticizing Biden for not doing enough on the issue.

Seem like the fact republicans never try to fix anything is proving true on every thing that comes up.. all b***hing and no attempt at all to fix or prevent problems..

Same old crap, nothing new at all..

Ol perm just tells enough t***h so his lies sound more believable. Said the Republicans v**ed down 28 million to increase the over bloated FDA budget. They did, but that money would not made the FDA one iota more efficient. There was no need for extra funds. Just stupid progressives spending more of someone elseโ€™s money. Damn dumbest people on earth.

Yeah, throw money at it instead of ordering Bob at the FDA to expedite the bulls**t process, and get the plant back online. That could have been done months ago. But, no, y'all can't do a damn thing without spending other people's money.

Oh come now ? I am not complaining about President Biden doing what he has to do now and certainly the situation as described in the article is not his fault, as far as the way the industry is constituted.

My complaint is that this situation should have been dealt with beginning in February. The administration was being warned that they had a growing problem and only now that babies are going hungry, is effective action beginning to be taken. Biden needs to fire whomever he has running the FDA.

The same formula that at one time the FDA would not allow into the country? The same FDA who, having cleared the largest baby formula manufacturing plant in the country of any wrongdoing after they shut it down still won't let it reopen? Viva la Progtards.

the stuff comeing in is US made formula,, same as sold in US stores.. from supplies in military warehouse.. not from germany or any other country..

The hold up on the plant reopening is made by abbot.. not at all held up by the FDA other than the sortage of staffing and limited operation a/c funding removed. You have to read the information provided if you intend to be informed about the problem. that is fundamental..

Then you need to make a logical decision about the unborn child. With sk**led help, a 23 - 24 week fetus can survive without complications. 39 weeks is full gestation. We call that viability. and don't go making the argument that the child can't survive without help. New borns also can't survive without life saving help; food and drink.

Okay, but what is Abbot's problem ? One might think they would be eager to get the plant up and running. They are not making money with it shut down.
