Woody, there is not a single church in the world that is a country club for perfect Christians. Only one perfect Christian has ever existed. Churches are instead hospitals for sinners. Think of prayer meetings and church services as AA meetings for people who recognize themselves as sinners, and want to do better.
Many MANY evils have been done by church members and leaders, and many more with church approval. That is sins of men and by men, not sins of the church or of worshipers of God, and certainly not with God's Blessing.
Much MUCH good has and is being done in God's name and by God's people.

YES - I am very aware of these mega church big name evangelicals and the events of the Crusades and Inquisitions BUT you are being willfully ignorant of scripture if you actually believe these big time pastors or these events were carried out by real Christians - they are not!! Anyone can call themself a Christian but it`s their actions that proves it to be true or not!!
