TSA has enough issues with my hair, not taking off a belt, which I do not have on, can you imagine the questions about a cast iron frying pan.

Hmm.....I can purchase one in CO. The dogs could use it for corrective action of their humans after I straighten you people out.  :D

I am sure they will appreciate that. When the plans started there were going to be about twenty people, but through friends and other survivors it ended being somewhere around 175 people, great outdoor wedding, all food donated by friends. For us it was a chance to see some of "our boys" again and meet their families. One of them lives not too far from the people we stayed with while being with my brother at the end, and he came to the wedding and brought a couple of pieces of furniture from my brother's house. It is amazing what God's love can do to heal and bring people together. Thanks to AuntiE you got to share the pictures that the friend from whom we are getting another dog painted. She did one for BTFKR just for fun, maybe he will put it up as an avatar. The ushers were a standard poodle, a Cane Corso that was not ours, a rough collie, an Airedale and the little one is a Welsh Terrier from the woman who did the artwork. All are certified therapy dogs with many different rally and obedience titles also. Both Airedale and Welsh are AKC conformation champions as is the other Corso. It is neat to have all around titled purebred dogs to help people realize what they can do with their dogs. One of our boys trains search and rescue and cadaver dogs. He was there . MaryBeth saw him at a seminar recently where he was speaking about search and rescue training, but it had been a while for me.
Thank you all for being a part of the festivities, and being a great part of our family.
God Bless You All

Tasine,

We thought you would like the pictures. This wonderful adventure filled with loving people started with a discussion we had with a therapist who was working with a young man who was the survivor of horrible physical and sexual abuse some years earlier. Around a year ago he met a woman and fell in love, but because of his past didn't think he was worthy enough to ask for her hand in marraige. It became a discussion on Opp plus with a number of other therapists who worked with abused kids. When we all heard the good news that he had asked her to marry him and she had accepted we somehow all got together via emails and the wedding was planned. The girl and her parents were in on the discussion but the young man wasn't. It ended up that we found them a nice double wide near where he was working, and put a down payment on it. We were cleaning out my brothers house, since he had recently died, and the couple got a couple of pieces of furniture from the house. Anyhow, all these people, most of whom didn't know each other came together to share in the magic and over the weekend became friends. A number of "our boys" were there so it was old home week. The great loving memories will stay with us for years, so we had to share it with our OPP family, many of whom also have shared the hard times and prayed for the kids trying to heal damaged hearts and souls to be part of this group is the greatest blessing MaryBeth and I could ever had, and now you have been able to share a few moments with us.
Diane also did her own Christmas card which was put up on Prayer Team around Christmas time. Thanks for sharing it with us, Tasine.

Thank you Tasine. The young men we have worked with have given us a great deal more than we could ever give them, and they still do. You sound like a very giving person to, and have a cearing heart.

A couple of quick updates for the wedding story. The Welsh Terrier in the painting is the mother of Chaos. We need to show him the photos of the paintings so he will realize he is required to behave like his mother sooner or later.
The happily married couple moved into the home, and love it. News through the grapevine is that they just learned they are expecting a baby. We know they will be great parents. Many of the people they met for the first time at the wedding are still in touch with them, so what ever support they need, physically, emotionally, or financially will always be happily offered. There are more good people out there than we realize. This update should bring a smile or two to those of you who read the posts since the topic started. God bless all of you who prayed for this couple.

We were so happy to hear about the baby in waiting. I gather they just found out. That means probably 6 or 7 months from now. As important to us is that they are both doing well, and he is living up to the expectations of all those who worked with him. At the wedding they were able to make many great connections with other Survivors, and the close knit group gets larger daily. Much better to be survivors of child abuse than to still be victims. God has bless us with the ability to be part of this group, and they have given much more to us than we have ever given to them. God be with all his children on this bright and glorious new day, AMEN.
