One thing for sure is that child abuse is inflicted by the metally ill.

There is nothing more evil than parents who sexually abuse their children, especially for profit.

When did I ever say that we work with twelve year old substance abuse victims? My brother abused drugs and alcohol as a way of "coping " with having been sexually abused, he did that his whole life, off and on. the children we work with are victims of rape and molestation. Many have also used alcohol or drugs to blunt the pain but that isn't the main problem. Where did you get that idea anyhow?

You explained it, when I was discussing the legalization of marijuana. You were a bit obtuse with the information, but your argument at the time was:

Legalization would increase the incidence of abuse and then you brought up the fact that you worked with people that had substance abuse problems.

...so from your point of view, I would agree that you believe the problem would become worse because that is your life experience.

Sorry for your history of sexual and drug addiction problems.

No I did not say substance abuse problems as a main problem. And I never said that I had had substance abuse problems myself I said my brother did. Yes I remember the legalization of drugs that you were promoting. Your inability to understand what I said is indication enough for me that more drugs are not a good idea.

...so there will be no more excuses for not legalizing marijuana....

And I'm not a user, I just don't like paying cops to do nothing.

What makes you think you're paying for it?

List of sources for income for Congress and Its MINIONS:

Sovereign Wealth Funds
Corporations (Domestic and Foreign)
Drug trafficking
Seizure of Assets
Tariffs
Bribery and Graft

You pay for nothing...except SSA benefits....the rest of it is the "oil of the machine".

Not saying they don't. In studies of those children in poverty and those of the middle class and upper class, there was a highly significant lack of frontal lobe development in the children of poverty, contributed to the stresses inherent in that condition.

Oh, I do think brain damage can contribute to mental illness. I don't believe genetics do.

I also think violence and abuse affects the brain in a very negative way, contributing to mental illness as well. Would you say violence does NOT affect the brain?

I agree. I have a family member who was the victim of a violent attack. She has suffered from PTSD for the past twenty years. None of the meds. have worked. They caused her to gain dangerous amounts weight.

She finally found a doctor specializing in PTSD. He has helped her learn her triggers. No meds for the last year and she is doing much better.

A strong religious faith gives people the psychological strength needed to handle their mental triggers, freeing them from dependence on psychoactive drugs. The milk-toast-like nature of mainstream religions could explain the explosion of Americans on antipsychotics.

...I cannot find any successful treatment offered by religious affiliation. Please some other place to post your misinformation. On the other hand, take a look at this:

Note: no religious, spiritual, prayer was used to determine a cure.

Very interesting article. Thank you for the link.

For to long people suffering for mental illness have been told prayer and a stronger belief system is all that is needed. Blame the victim for lack of faith. I am sure some of the vets on here could explain PTSD better than I can. It is real suffering.
