And Why was Columbus credited to have discovered America? He had very large crew and at least 3 ships with him., traveled 4 times to the New World
The explorer Christopher Columbus made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain: in 1492, 1493, 1498 and 1502. He was determined to find a direct water route west from Europe to Asia, but he never did. Instead, he stumbled upon the America
Let us see the first human being who came to America.
First who came to the New World. were the indigenous people from Asia. Said to be inhabitants of China, Korea, Japan, the Philippines. This was during the 15,000 to 20,000 years ago. They came thru the Bering land, either by foot or by boat. These are now the Indians tribes, and the Eskimos in Alaska.
The 2nd batch of travel was during the 6th century, by the Irish Monks lead by Saint Brendan. They were looking for the promise land, they called Paradise land. It was believed they reach the New Word of North American continent, proven by relics left in Virginia created between the 6th and 8th centuries.
The 3rd batch of travel to the New World are the Vikings in 1021AD. It was said the they reached Newfoundland in Canada.
The 4th bath of travel was by Christopher Columbus. in 1492.
Did Columbus Discover America?
How was Columbus's journey to the New World?
On August 3, 1492, Columbus and his crew set sail from Spain in three ships: the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. On October 12, the ships made landfall—not in the East Indies, as Columbus assumed, but on one of the Bahamian islands, likely San Salvador.
He subsequently visited the islands now known as Cuba and Hispaniola, establishing a colony in what is now Haiti.
Columbus left from Cádiz in Spain for his second voyage (1493-1496) on September 24, 1493, with 17 ships and about 1200 men. His aim was to conquer the TaÃno tribe and colonise the region. ... The second voyage brought European livestock (horses, sheep, and cattle) and settlers to America for the first time.
Columbus 3rd On May 30th 1498, Columbus' third voyage began. Columbus explored Trinidad, as well as part of Venezuela. Columbus then returned to Hispaniola, where he found the settlers in a state of r*******n. ... The monarchs ultimately decided to allow Columbus to keep his titles and money.
Columbus's goal was to find the Strait of Malacca to the Indian Ocean. On 14 March 1502, Columbus started his fourth voyage with 147 men and with strict orders from the king and queen which instructed him not to stop at Hispaniola, but only to search for a westward passage to the Indian Ocean mainland.
Although Columbus enjoyed a substantial revenue from Hispaniola gold during the last years of his life, he repeatedly attempted (unsuccessfully) to gain an audience with King Ferdinand, whom he felt owed him further
redress. Columbus died on May 20, 1506.
Reasons why Columbus was credited to discover America. He had large crew and traveled 4 times to the New World and discovered founded a number of most of the surrounding countries within the US.

That is how I understand it. It's some cool stuff. You would think that at a point someone would correct the history books.
