I'm out running errands today all over town, and had my route planned out till I decided to deviate a little since I hadn't been down that road in a long time. It's just a 2 mile cut across, narrow, 2 lane little road, and I wanted to see if anything has changed. At the last stop sign leaving civilization, a Deputy Sheriff pulled up behind me. No big deal, except that she literally rode my bumper for a bit, and it got my dander up.
After the stop sign, I noticed that the road had been re-striped with a double yellow paint. I can't call it a line, because it is as crooked as a politician, if not more so.
With her on my bumper, I started following the painted lane marking without crossing the paint. Whoever drove that paint truck must have been HAMMERED!!!!
Long story short, I was pulled over for driving erratically, and harassed beyond my own belief.
It took 3 of em. Yep, two more showed up to handle this dangerous sumb***h!!
I was compliant with them, and I was still put in cuffs while they searched the vehicle of this offender of following government painted lines. They wanted field sobriety tests, I said get the thing and let me blow in it. They mentioned pills, and stuff. I told them arrest me for DUI, take blood, and get ready to defend your actions.

I do not blame you. I just got through paying a $189 speeding ticket. This is the second ticket I have gotten in 50 years of driving. The ticket was for going 46 mph in a 35 mph zone, entering the small town of Nixon, Texas. The last speed sign I saw was for 50 mph, so I thought I was going well below the limit. The officer was very professional, but I feel like, with my record, I could/should have been given a warning. I did not go back and see if the 35 mph was actually posted or not. The last, and only other ticket I got was in 1982, again in a small town I was traveling through, and again for going faster than the posted speed. But in THAT case, I DID go back and look, and there was no sign. However, when I talked to the judge about it, I was told that I was responsible for knowing the town's speed limits, sign or no sign. City hall CAN be beaten, but is it worth the effort? Sometimes, I guess, but not for me, and not over a speeding ticket.

I spent one Saturday morning about 6 years ago crushing beer cans and bagging them to take to the recycling plant. As I was heading down Route 50 a motorcycle zipped past me at about 75 Mph and the rider lost control and ran off the road and disappeared into a ditch. I stopped my truck and climbed down into the ditch to help the guy but he was way beyond any help I could offer. I climbed to the top of the ditch and called 911. When the copter took off for the hospital one of the county cops said he wanted to talk to me. He asked me if I had been drinking and I told him no. He said he could smell alcohol coming from me and I explained about crushing beer cans all morning. I had to a breathalizer test and it came up zero. He said his equipment must be faulty and I was under arrest for DUI. To make a long story short, they took me to jail and I asked for a blood test. When that came up zero the charges were dropped. I still had to pay the towing charge plus one day storage for my truck. Next time I witness an accident I'm just going to keep on trucking.
