Add to that, Child Labor law's else we would be working to the death all those wonderful fetuses that you conservatives claim to love...

I challenge my Republican friends to post a list of accomplishments benefiting society as a whole (the common good) for which their party has advocated and got enacted.

When a Republican congressman is elected they join the rest of their party in repealing all the laws they can and making sure no new laws get passed.

Don't have time to go through your whole list but lets start here:

"The Republican Party pioneered the right of women to v**e and was consistent in its support throughout the long campaign for acceptance. It was the first major party to advocate equal rights for women and the principle of equal pay for equal work. "

You can read the whole article at the posted site below. After established, there were amendments from both sides of the aisle. BUT, wouldn't have been amendments without the establishment "get it".

Full List of 172 Republicans Who Opposed the Violence Against Women Act
BY JAMES WALKER ON 3/18/21 AT 6:00 AM EDT

The House v**ed on Wednesday to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act after 29 Republicans broke with their party to support the bill, which offered women protections from domestic violence, sexual assault and other harassment.

Lawmakers approved the bill in a 244-172 v**e following its lapse in late 2018. The Democratic-controlled House sought to renew the bill the following year, but it was held up in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Backs up my point. When in the past decade have Republicans put forth anything to actually help the people?

You mean when the Republican party was made up of progressives? What have you conservatives done besides attempting to undo every progressive thing that has made this country one that you people would desperately love to tear apart!

What I love is that conservatives are going to try to lay claim to progressive changes...changes that no self-respecting conservative would support today...or even back then!

"Progress" is a subjective term.

No thanks to the nefarious, oppressive, r****t, economic policies of the democrat party we have made great strides in our progress along the road to hell.

Not true, at the time you left out women, looks like you forgot about them again. And it looks like you are still trying to suppress their rights, looks like your work is never done huh.

And how is it subjective? It literally comes from the word...progress, how is progress NOT moving forward? Is backward subjective too? Ah the world of conservativism, now THAT is subjective. LOL

So let me get this straight, the north was only made up of Republicans? I didn't know that. LOL I see, so the civil war was really a war of simply conflicting party's and not civil rights and freedom.
