So basically you are saying that a woman who gets an elective a******n should be prosecuted (to be consistent with the contention that the unborn child is treated equally)? And, by extension, the person doing the a******n should also be charged?

I want to make certain that Understand your position correctly.

No. I am am saying that that appears to be the pro life stance and if it is not then there is a contradiction with the proclamation that a zygote or fetus is a human life that has personhood.

It is specifically for this reason that the Catholic Church dogma forbids all induced a******ns. Of course, this will be more than Strycker can accept for he will invoke spontaneous a******ns to be prosecuted.

There was a very good dramatization of this conflict in the Otto Preminger 1963 movie, "The Cardinal," withTom Tryon in the title role.

What Roe v Wade actually did was open the door for a booming a******n industry and gave PPH carte blanche in disposition of body parts.

63 million babies k**led in the womb since R v W.

A******n Clock: real time

This brought tears to my eyes.
My belief, and it's just my belief, is:
Because I believe in God, only He has the right to choose who lives or dies. As a woman who has two daughters, I would give up my life if it were a choice between me or the child, both before birth and after.
I don't expect others to have the same belief, although I would hope most human beings feel the same way. Making my life more important than another's is selfish and wrong IMHO.

Not at all what I have been saying or supporting. Though there are plenty of examples of pro life extremists calling for just that.

Do you believe that a person should be allowed to legally murder another person? (I use the term 'murder' as opposed to 'k**l' because there are certainly times when it is justifiable to 'k**l' another person).

Of course not. Murder is murder.

Do you believe that negligent or unintentional homicide shouldn't be a crime?

Now we can go round and round about when and what makes a fertilized egg a biological and philosophical human being.

Yes

Science states that when an egg is fertilized, it then becomes a biological human being.
Philosophy is simply opinions.

That opinion pretty much seals your stance on spontaneous a******ns due to negligence. I presume that position also applies to situations such as vehicular homicide or the potential negligent shooting of the camera woman on Alec Baldwins set.

Is biology the only thing that makes a human being human or does a human being consist of something more than just a mass of cells? Something that separates humans from the rest of the animal kingdom?

Many people are charged with vehicular manslaughter or similar charges. Do you have a problem with that?

"Potential"? Let's not play the 'what if' game.

>>>Is biology the only thing that makes a human being human or does a human being consist of something more than just a mass of cells?

Again, you are bringing up philosophical debates. But yes, biology does define a human being in the scientific, factual community.

Nope. You're the one who said that you believe that negligent or unintentional homicide shouldn't be a crime.

Scientifically, a fertilized egg can still become several separate but not 100% genetically identical twins, triplets or more. Apparently conception is not as defining as one might think but it is only the starting point of what might eventually become one or more human beings.
