The British military has stepped in to evacuate some American citizens who were left behind in Afghanistan following the Biden administration's chaotic pullout of U.S. forces and the nation's quick fall to Taliban terrorists, according to former Deputy National Security Advisor Matthew Pottinger.

"The United Kingdom right now, I know that they’re running patrols into Kabul to get British citizens, Afghans and in some cases Americans that they encounter, and helping bring them to safety," Pottinger told FOX Business' Larry Kudlow on Thursday.

Pottinger, a former Marine who served four years as a senior aide in the Trump administration, said NATO allies "in some cases, at the risk of the lives of their own diplomats, have been arranging for Americans and students, journalists, Afghan staff who have been working at the American university in Kabul, for example" to flee the war-torn nation that the U.S. occupied for 20 years up until the disastrous departure of the American military earlier this month. The former Trump official said those allies have "been escorting, creating safe passage and escorting those people onto the airbase and flying them out to safety."

Following the departure of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, President Biden sent back thousands of American military personnel after Taliban terrorists took over the nation in a matter of days. But Pentagon leadership said U.S. forces that have returned to the country are not tasked with going beyond the Kabul airport to retrieve stranded Americans, unlike their British counterparts who are scouring the country conducting rescues.

Fox News national correspondent Jennifer Griffin asked Pentagon officials at a press briefing earlier on Thursday why U.S. troops weren't going into the city of Kabul to rescue and evacuate American citizens who weren't able to reach the airport as the British were doing for their own.

Gen. Hank Taylor replied, "At this time…our main mission continues to be to secure [the airport], to allow those American citizens and other civilians to come in and be processed at the airfield."

It's nice to know that the Brits, at least, have someone in their government who wears big boy pants instead of Depends. The British military gets their people out while the pissant in the White House begs terrorists not to hurt ours.

I was just about to post a new topic, when I saw your thread, and thought it would be better to post my link here. Whilst our President Joe Biden is leaving Americans and Afghan Allies to get through to the airport themselves, the British and the French have sent into Afghanistan military rescue teams to get their people out.

The British and the French are doing what the Biden Administration should be doing. I wonder if President Biden will eventually copy the British and French ?

As I am sure you know Deb... the occupation is by a group of nations, not just the US. the group includes UK, France, Australia, Norway and others.. so of course any and all of these countries would help remove any people needing to be evacuated.. this is not news.. nor unusual..

The US does run the show, but we are not alone in Afghanistan..

They did under President Trump. The Joint Chiefs of Staff ultimately must obey the civilian Commander in Chief, the President. If he tells them we are getting out at the end of August and tells them to withdraw forces ahead of evacuating civilians, they must say " Yes Sir. "

This is not a military F**K Up. It is a policy F**k Up, by President Biden and his National Security Team. Please continue in your defense of the indefensible. I enjoy it.

Yes, former President Trump made a deal with the Taliban to pull US troops out of Afghanistan by May 2021
Former President Donald Trump made a deal to remove U.S. forces by May 2021, but Biden extended the withdrawal deadline to Sept. 11.

The Trump administration in February 2020 negotiated a withdrawal agreement with the Taliban that excluded the Afghan government, freed 5,000 imprisoned Taliban soldiers and set a date certain of May 1, 2021, for the final withdrawal.

And the Trump administration kept to the pact, reducing U.S. troop levels from about 13,000 to 2,500, even though the Taliban continued to attack Afghan government forces and welcomed al-Qaeda terrorists into the Taliban leadership.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman for nearly two decades, appears at a press conference in Kabul, Afghanistan, Aug. 17. (Marcus Yam/Los Angeles Times)
Biden delayed the May 1 withdrawal date that he inherited. But ultimately his administration pushed ahead with a plan to withdraw by Aug. 31, despite obvious signs that the Taliban wasn’t complying with the agreement and had a stated goal to create an “Islamic government” in Afghanistan after the U.S. left, even if it meant it had to “continue our war to achieve our goal.”

For the one millionth time, President Biden was not locked into any agreement that President Trump had with the Taliban. For the one millionth time President Trump would not have withdrawn the American military ahead of securing Civilians and military equipment.

Like Obama in Iraq, Biden inherited a viable exit strategy, and went out of his way to not follow it.

Barak Hussein Obama, " Never underestimate Joe's ability to F**k things up. "

There is no sense even trying to explain things to the DEMONIC/DEMENTAI-ridden/DIM WIT/DUFUS rats here on opp.

It would require a brain to understand and they possess 3 functioning brain cells (on life support from lack of O2 from having their heads permanently implanted up their @$$) which they have to share with ALL rats here.

Save your breath for that which is possible.

For the millionth time.. the Taliban was operating on what trump told them.. and trump did not include the government of Afghan.. trump would have done as he did with the Kurds.. done with em.. hell with em..

trump never did anything correct in his life.. he even went belly up owning a casino..

trump will for ever be the most useless gob of protoplasm to ever be allowed in the oval..

Any oil wells in Afghan? NO, then what were the troops for? That is the orange flabs view of the ME..

If after these years of showing that trump has no value for anything that does not profit him in someway. the comprehension has finished from the mind of all trump fevered disciples..

And if you read my OP, I do indeed think Biden f***** up and that frosts me no end.. I am still mad at him..

But I remain thankful we do not have the former scourge to further the destruction of our nation..

Biden Inherited a viable exit strategy. What pray tell was that?? feel free to outline it for us..
