In addition the protesters had the example of the liberal protesters who ran freely though the capital building during the Kavanaugh and Barret hearings where senators were cornered and verbally accosted by these protesters.

The fact that these protesters appear to be conservatives is the only difference. So, yes, political prisoners.

Do you really want to equate verbally accosting them to the violence exhibited with erecting a hangman's noose and calling to hang Pence and others?

People would have died had they not gotten to safety.

No one would have died. The protesters wanted justice, not blood. Puhlease

You claim people would have died. You don't know. I personally seriously doubt it regardless of the over the top rhetoric by some protesters and drama queen congresswomen. It was protesters that helped the officer that was separated from the group to get back to the tunnel. Most of the protesters would have stopped the few if it even gotten that far.

Isn't erecting a hangman's noose and calling to hang Pence just verbal protesting. No worse than calls to "Pigs in a Blanket: Fry 'em Like Bacon".

Remember the race car driver who opened the door to the "garage" where his car was and found a "noose"...it was the rope like every other "garage" had for closing the door. A****a and b*m can also be trained to holler, "HANG PENCE!!!"

If they HAD wanted blood, there could have been PLENTY of it, but instead, the blood shed was one of their own who was also unarmed....

DEMONrat MOTTO 1*6/2021: Police, Shoot first, ask questions later... Prior to that, if it's a black person attacking, Police, let them shoot you 30 times or stab you to death before you are allowed to pull your gun.

Wood:

Perhaps the same standards should be followed in regard to Oregon protesters who attacked Federal Officers & Federal Buildings.

Where is the line you draw on where some of these "political prisoners are guilty of violence against police officers, destroying property, planning for worse acts of violence?

The fact of the matter is that charges are starting with the lightest ones because very lenient plea deals are being struck, anyone being held or charged at this point is guilty as charged because of the video and social media evidence...the plea deals are super light compared to the sentences on the charges that could be brought.

Surely you are not going to try to say that all of these are patriots exercising rights so they deserve not to be charged?

This is a piece from CNN about the hearings and sentencing of J****** 6th protesters. Please note, most are being charged with thing like "parading" and "picketing". But it goes on to say that they're not showing enough "remorse", and some "even think they are political prisoners".
I, personally, think they ARE political prisoners. Others have "invaded" public spaces, and not received the treatment these people have, nor been swept up in a national d**gnet. I am beyond disgusted with Republicans in DC that did not advocate for these people. Anyone else have an opinion (that is based on reading the article and not swearing at me)?
