To Vax or Not To Vax, That Is The Question
With apologies to Shakespeare… (paraphrasing Hamlet's soliloquy)

'To vax, or not to vax, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of not getting v******ted,
Or to take arms against an unseen foe
And by vaxing, end them. ...'

Ah, the question that so many are asking these days. "Should I or shouldn't I?"

Among the anti-vaxers, there seem to be four categories:

First, those that say that they won't take the v*****e until the FDA gives final approval. It doesn't matter to them that the millions of people that have already been vax'd have had very few bad side effects, and that getting C***D is not only horrendous, but expensive. And you can die from it.

Second, there are those that are opposed to any vaxing at all, based on erroneous information that v*****es cause autism; that Bill Gates is injecting microchips into everyone for mind control; that the government is secretly altering our DNA to make us more docile; [add your favorite conspiracy theory here].

Third, those that just consider it to be their right to refuse medical treatment at all. "The government isn't going to tell me what to do." This does not take into consideration the rampant t***smissibility of the v***s, and what that can do to their family and friends, never mind the community in which they live. They claim that either "God will protect them", or "When it's my time, then I'll go", or some such. They usually recant these stands just before they get put on a ventilator.

Fourth, there's the ones that just don't give a s**t about much of anything except to exercise their right to pursue anything that they want. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally comes to mind as a prime example of this. Not many v******tions, not a mask in sight, and super-spreader status to the rest of the country.

There are instances across all four categories of people begging to be v******ted on their deathbeds, only to be told that it's too late for that. There are also many occurrences of deathbed conversions, where someone says "God, I wish I'd taken the v*****e when I had a chance. Go do it."

Of course, not wearing a mask is right up there in lockstep with getting v******ted. The reasons are just as varied for this, as for not getting the jab.

The first three categories have at least a vestige of being persuaded to get the shot, but the fourth category is probably beyond saving.
These are the folks that will refuse to abide by any rule or regulation that they can avoid which keeps them from going after their hedonistic pleasures. The Sturgis crowd is notorious for this. It was classified as a super-spreader event last year, and this year promises to be as effective in v***s t***smission or more, considering the Delta variant is many times more virulent in spreading than the strain that existed last year. Their motorcycle gangs are called "Outlaws", "Cossacks", "Mongols", and (most famously) "Hells Angels", for a reason.
These are the same people that screamed bloody murder when they were required to ride with helmets a few years back. "I'll be damned if I'm going to wear a 'skid lid'. I can't hear, and it interferes with my feeling the wind." Of course, they then sometimes wind up in the ER with a fractured skull requiring massive surgical procedures to repair, along with tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars that the taxpayer usually has to pony up to cover the hospital's expenses. But they just don't care, and usually go back to the behaviors that got them there in the first place.
OK, so you get the idea that I'm averse to motorcycles. Actually, I'm not averse to motorcycles, just the mindsetof some of their riders. There are millions of responsible riders out there, but that minority makes it difficult for the rest of them.
But I digress … only to point out the mindset.

There is such a thing as civic responsibility. It's part of being a member of a society. Part of that responsibility is looking out for the common good. It's the part of citizenship that these anti-vaxers keep forgetting. They forget that the "common good" is an overriding principle of a civilized society. Public health comes right up there as a reason for applying this principle, if not for the community, then for your own family and friends. These deathbed conversions mostly have a common theme, "I wish I'd gotten the shot for my kids and family."

I'm personally at a loss for figuring out where these people are coming from. If only from the possibility of contracting C***D and the possibility of dying from it, you'd think that self-preservation would at some point enter into their equation, but obviously it doesn't.

I implore those of you that haven't gotten the v*****e yet, to please, PLEASE, do so. Not only will you be doing yourself some good, but your family, friends and community will benefit as well.

Why the hell should we trust any Demorat or media whack job that hasn't told or published a t***hful story in 5 years and counting, especially since President Trump came in as our great president that threw a monkey wrench in the g*******t desire to ruin our country to which you are now a part of. As a purported scientific individual with multiple degrees, I'd originally infer that you are a rational, thinking individual ... but, alas, I'd be wrong. After watching your responses to various posts (including mine), I'm inclined to ask what bogus universities or colleges that your degrees emanate from. I realize that we can be anything and anyone on the Internet, but unfortunately, you take it to a whole new level. I'll be lacking in sympathy when and if you contract C***D, but it's your decision to be someone that could potentially infect many other people. I only hope that you live in a cave and have all your supplies delivered, so as to limit your physical interaction with the rest of us. But it's your choice to be contrarian, and the rest of those around you could pay the price physically for your ignorance as to the contagious nature of the C***D that we're dealing with. I wish you the best and hope that you never get infected for the sake of the rest of us.

C***d doesn't bother me. The death rate for smart educated individuals like me is almost "0". What is more bothersome to me are uneducated people like you who are trying to mandate their agenda on people like me that are too smart to fall for all the hype of the dems and their pimps, the corrupt major media. If the dems and their media pimps were really serious about this W***n v***s they would immediately shut our borders down and shut out all i*****l i*******ts. Ovommit would have cancelled his unmasked birthday bash and our elites, instead of always being caught unmasked, would always be masked up. Take your bs and your condescending bullying tactics to a different site and just leave me be the liberty loving individual that I am and that you should aspire to.

It is unfortunate that you have drunk the Koolade, and there is no amount of factual evidence or logic that can alter your dystopian view of the world. Have a delightful, unmasked, unv******ted day.
By the way, if you consider my responses to be "condescending bullying tactics", I suggest that you take a look and analyze your own posts.

I analyze and look at every word, vowel, and syllable and even conjugate each sentence. I probably analyze my posts more than Mueller analyzed the Russian Collusion Delusion and Trumps tax records and that's saying a lot. I prefer Powerade to the Koolade.

Despite ‘Delta’ Alarmism, US C***D Deaths Are at Lowest Level Since March 2020, Harvard and Stanford Professors Explain

If you judged the US’s current C****-** situation only by the headlines, you’d come away thinking that we’re spiraling back into p******c disaster. Localities like Los Angeles County and St. Louis have reimposed mask mandates on their citizens, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just revised its “guidance” to say that, actually, fully v******ted individuals should still wear masks in certain situations. Meanwhile, mainstream media coverage of the rise of the “Delta variant” is soaked in alarmism.

Yet at the same time that all this alarm is mounting, the actual number of C****-** deaths is at a nadir. Harvard Medical School Professor Martin Kulldorff pointed this out on Twitter, writing that “In [the] USA, C***D mortality is now the lowest since the start of the p******c in March 2020.”

He shared this graph from OurWorldInData which clearly shows how C***D deaths per million are at, relatively speaking, extreme lows. Far more people were dying from C****-** months ago as we were winding down restrictions than are dying today as some call to reinstate them.

Now, some would cite rising C****-** case counts or hospitalizations in certain parts of the country as evidence that the p******c is indeed once again spiraling out of control. But many C****-** cases recorded as positive are either asymptomatic or come with very mild symptoms—especially the cases confirmed among v******ted individuals—so high case counts are not necessarily proof of a serious problem. Hospitalizations are concerning, yes, but primarily insofar as they lead to high numbers of deaths, which, thankfully, is not the case so far with the Delta variant.

Others would say that deaths are a “lagging indicator” that come in several weeks after the increased spread of the disease. But the Delta variant has been spreading in the US for months now, and deaths have remained relatively flat, in part due to widespread v******tion.

“It is striking that C***D mortality is at such low levels despite the fact that we are seeing an increase in cases of late,” Stanford Professor of Medicine Dr. Jay Bhattacharya tells FEE. “By immunizing the elderly and many other vulnerable people, we have provided them with excellent protection against severe disease in case they get infected. Also contributing is widespread natural immunity from recovered C***D patients. Though cases may rise, deaths will no longer follow in proportion. We have effectively defanged the disease with our successful v******tion rollout.”

So, there’s simply no reason to expect the long downward trend in deaths shown in the above graph to suddenly spike upwards. And we can’t make public policy based on worst-case scenarios.

That’s right: despite all the alarmism and clamor for renewed restrictions on our liberty, there’s not really been a resurgence in the state of the C****-** crisis itself.

“We should be declaring a great and resounding success,” Bhattacharya told FEE in conclusion. “The C***D emergency is over. We still need to take C***D seriously, and there are still vulnerable people here and abroad left to v******te. But we can start to treat it as one disease among many that afflict people rather than an all-consuming threat.”

Of course, proponents of big government and government officials themselves will be the last ones to acknowledge the reality that the most dangerous phase of this p******c has long since come to an end in the US. Why? Because the rhetoric of “emergency” and “crisis” is the government’s favorite tool to use in expanding and maintaining its power over our lives.

“‘Emergencies’ have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberty have eroded,” as Nobel-Prize-winning economist Friedrich Hayek put it. “And once they are suspended it is not difficult for anyone who has assumed emergency powers to see to it that the emergency will persist.”

Examples of this timeless t***h abound throughout history up until present day: from the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II to the now-permanent infringements on our civil liberties after 9/11 to the sweeping expansion of government control during the C****-** p******c.

But, whether politicians like it or not, the C****-** crisis is largely over. So don’t fall for cynical arguments from power-hungry individuals who want their “emergency” powers to become permanent.

So don’t fall for cynical arguments from power-hungry individuals who want their “emergency” powers to become permanent.

wow, quit fussing and get the jab!!!!!

even in the south, parents should want the kids back in school.. get the jab!!!

Stopping T***smission is Key to Controlling Variants
Humanity has its hands full as the v***s continues to mutate and evolve potential mechanisms to escape the immune defenses its hosts have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to develop. In addition to the variants of concern currently being monitored, researchers are keeping an eye on a number of variants of interest, including Lambda. When specific mutations (like K417N/T) become fixed in different v***s lineages, it is evidence that natural se******n may be occurring. According to Dr. Vaughn Cooper, ASM’s Council on Microbial Sciences-elected Board Director and evolutionary biologist, stopping the v***s is key. “The more infections, the more chance that mutations will occur and thus the more likely se******n will enrich the best mutations to improve the v***s,” he explained. V******tion is the best weapon in the fight to curb t***smission.

Quit using the word v******tion as this is not a v******tion. It is an m**A jab.

I always thought you were a trump fan, now you b***h that his v*****e which skipped so much testing is not what he told you it was.. darn, I get so confused with you larry.

Light is diming now so it is inside and may as well read more of the latest book I was given..

It is called "only I can fix it" about some mentally deranged fellow who thinks he should be king and does not know how government works in his country..

You would find it amusing but they probably do not carry it at your library..

Hang on, they are coming...

enjoy the evening..

Trump made a big mistake, in my opinion, when he got Fraudci to hustle this W***n jab and got it confirmed in short order. If we had waited another 5 years for FDA approval we wouldn't have shut our economy down and probably would not be playing the mask game. Only the real sick people would be in isolation and masked up.
