They are pumping sludge, that is why they have leaks.
Perhaps but how about a little updating or is it upgrading when the Keystone XL project was first announced, back in 2005, the U.S. was certainly in need of the additional capacity that would have been produced...
But since then like everything else goals change...
Thinking the U.S. has just really hone self sufficient in its way off of global imports in a really big way during the periods of “delays and politics,". "The domestic shale revolution has completely altered the U.S. landscape and its dependency on foreign oil, itself and producing our own even better..
"The U.S. need for Canadian oil is not to the same urgent degree as it has been in the past."
Remember as the project continued to stall, the industry found alternative supply chains.... Producers began relying more on rail to t***sport oil supplies while other pipelines expanded incrementally to help move those additional barrels to U.S. markets.. Kind of like where there is a will, there's a way...Or regardless of the mode in delivering it, Canada will insure it until they work something else out... There are other ways to get it to market...Right??
You know like our shale production now...Didn’t it make us a major exporter of crude oil?? Sure it did.
Yes, sometimes alternatives are better..
Btw, is sludge different from crude??

Crude is unrefined petroleum, sludge is a combination of oil and organic matter, a kind of dirty muck, usually formed during refining, while separating the the matter with the oil. Defined as:
Petroleum Sludge:
Petroleum sludge compositions contain both organic components and heavy metals with typical range of concentrations as reported by the American petroleum institute

The world is moving away from f****l f**ls, adding more detriment to the environment at this point seems a little crazy. Clean water will soon be much more valuable than oil.

Thank You, I sometimes forget the properties that define, sludge, crude, shale oils etc and the required cleaning of such..
Different names of crude oil based on its geographical source, property components such as physical characteristics and chemical composition....It gets confusing at times...

I don’t think it will ever completely move away from f****l f**l because of the make up involved with all in alternative energy used... But I do support alternative energy just not necessarily by what being played with right now. I think Geo thermal is a lot better bet but that’s just me.
Why, well Geothermal energy is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Geothermal power plants have average availabilities of 90% or higher, compared to about 75% for coal plants to start with and its power is homegrown, reducing our dependence on foreign oil. Just to start..Natural too ...
Alternatives are a good idea no doubt about it

None work until they are all complete. Why stop it? Because Trump supported it. Nothing more than that.
Like Trump h**ed Obamacare because it had Obama's name on it, and for no other reason. Same with all the Obama environmental regs.

Yeah, his obsession was quite extreme, but I think most of it was to serve his purpose to kowtow to his base and their hatred for him, it's how he kept them.

Geothermal is a great way to go.

The "woke" western world is moving away from f****l f**ls, the rest of the world...not so much. China has been, and plans on, opening a new coal fired power plant every couple of months, for the next 20 years. Look it up, that's in the Paris climate accord. Why are you Hell bent on destroying our country?

I think Trump h**ed Obamacare because it's a dog with fleas. Without government subsidies my insurance rate doubled, with a higher deductible.
The environmental regulations were ridiculous, stupid, and so far overreaching. I live in Arizona and we've been getting our usual monsoons. When we get enough rain the arroyo on the back acre flows with water. Under Obamas EPA that arroyo was now under federal control. I couldn't put my tree trimmings in it anymore, couldn't even fix my walking bridge over it...unless it met "code"
I don't want, and certainly don't need, the government to tell me how I should live my life.

It is more complicated than you think. I'm trying tro be nice here.
Not really, gallons to gallons pipeline spills are much worse, one reason for this is that the leak can go for sometime before it is known, an accident is immediate and above ground, it's much more containable.
