The thing so often overlooked is by raising Capital Gains you may obtain higher income from the more wealthy; however, the unintended consequence is how it effects the other, less affluent, investors.

....which is why we don't have a flat tax, as I know you're a aware that capital (until recently) are taxed "appropriately"...my mother-in-law has more tax schemes than she ever made in income. If she had just spent more effort making money, she could have gone a lot farther.

It is a test of what a 71 year old heart can endure. Obviously, yours can endure a great deal. :-o  :-D We will not mention this to Mrs. A.

As I was saying, the hardest part was when she told me to hold my breath. I was panting like a grey hound after a race.

Thanks for not being a rat. Somethings are better left unsaid.

I do not perceive hypocrisy. As I said, personal taxes are different from corporate. I forgot to post this before. It has occurred to me if he and Bill Gates are so anxious for additional personal income taxes being higher on the wealthy, why not he and Mr. Gates write a check to the Treasury Department for wh**ever amount they feel they should pay? Why require others, who may not be like minded, pay more?

The billionaires are the ones so anxious to always spend someone else's money. And, Buffet saying his secretary paid more in taxes than he did, is to me insulting. It only proves, the common man gets the shaft, while the rich fly high with all their deductions and accountants. Now, maybe what they pay their accountants to get them out of paying taxes, were added to their taxes - it may well amount to more than what his secretary paid.
