Years ago I read the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. He had once been an obnoxious debater. He read Xenophon's "Memorable Things of Socrates " and found the humble inquirer to be devastating to his opponents. I could do that to you.

I think I should stay with what I do best. That also gives you the best chance to humiliate me. Since you knew about the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, perhaps you have also seen the movie the Princess Bride ?

My favorite character is the bad guy Vizzini. He is an arrogant evil genius. He has a battle of wits with the hero Westley, which he loses. Leading up to that, this is how big his ego is.

" Vizzini: I can't compete with you physically, and you're no match for my brains.

Westley: You're that smart?


Vizzini: Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?


Westley: Yes.


Vizzini: Morons. "

I am waiting for you to take me down like Westley did to Vizzini.

Vizzini, Inigo, and Fezzik make the movie. 30 years later my kids still say " My name is Inigo Montoya. You k**led my father. Prepare to die. " I love Billy Crystal but, I h**ed his Miracle Max. That make up job and the accent just didn't work.

As stated in my above post, Rose, it is very conceivable that The Princess Bride is also one of mine. On this, you, Son of Witless and I agree. Apparently, he has good taste in movies.

I agree with all of the above, but believe Carol Kane was able to pull off her role next to Billy Crystal's Miracle Max.

BTW, Wallace Shawn, who played Vizzini, stars in 'Young Sheldon' as a much more likable physics professor.

I do not watch Young Sheldon much so I missed Wallace Shawn on that show. I think he was a guest star on Cosby years back. I always liked him, but the parts I've seen him in do not do justice to his talent. But his creation of Vizzini was brilliant. Carol Kane, since you brought it up was good, but again Billy Crystal was a major disappointment. I think the writers and director did a great job getting that performance out of Andre the Giant. For a non actor to be that good is astounding. The one other character I h**ed was the Clergyman who performed the marriage ceremony for Prince Humperdink and Princess Buttercup.
