Do you have opinions of your own? You seem obsessed with the opinions of others to be yours.

There are times when I’m a bit puzzled why he posts certain things like this.

The conversation divide.

I personally think that millions of Americans on welfare is an affront to the wealthiest nation on earth. Although the reasons for this deplorable condition are varied and complex, there is one causative agent that rises above all the rest.....................................the fact that Americans have consistently refused to invest sufficiently in education and opportunities for the least among us, thus empowering them to bring THEMSELVES out of poverty.

Should the American people ever learn to stop listening to the media, politicians and political operatives, and learn to talk to their fellow Americans - AND - begin listening to the people personally affected by poverty and the like ( instead of talking ABOUT them )..........................we could correct many of these maladies virtually overnight.

I have posted many comments of my own...some of great length. However, I am a student of both history and those who contribute(d) to it. In this case, I felt Mr. Richardson deserved a shout-out for his somewhat brief moment in headlines from a past time. Though mostly a tribute to him, I align with much of what he wrote/said.

That is generally the reason for quoting others who are so articulate in their use of our language.

Pardon me, Mr. Elliot Richardson, for deviating from your honorable comments.

Dig this, Sici: In response to such high praise, I offer a description of why you appear to be an 'empty vessel'...

"Empty vessel' is a metaphor for a very shallow person whose thoughts and actions have no significant meaning. Such people are constantly talking or otherwise making noise in an attempt to get attention from other people. The more the person is ignored because he has no real input to give, the louder he will become. Another term for this individual is 'blow hard'."

Yeah, Arch. That's another term with which I'm familiar.

Well, to be honest, they're not all from NYC...though, perhaps a disproportionate number are.

T***h be known, Texans also have a reputation...deserved or otherwise...for being blowhards/windbags.

BTW, I do believe Sici to be driven by honest (however askew) motivating factors.

Good for you!!

As a Postal Worker, I am at the front of the line according to what I've been told at work.
I'm going to pass myself since I truly believe I've already had the "rona".
I'm no anti-v**xer by any means, but I'm sketchy on this one just like flu shots. Yeah, this one is free, but how will you react to it? My mother in law, and brother in law were both hammered for about 3 days after getting theirs.

I'll just wear the mask even though it does nothing.
And, being a natural misanthrope, social distancing is no issue for me.

But, like I said, we've had it here. About a year ago, we both got sick with something that couldn't be defined. All of the symptoms matched C***D. I've never had anything knock me down that hard. Never.

It doesn’t matter how much money is thrown at education. The mindset to bring oneself out of poverty begins with how children are raised.
