I was speaking to the locals of Mexia, Tx.

In years past, very rarely. I usually camped/fished at Lake Bastrop, Lake Granger, Lake Somerville and lakes south as far away as Choke Canyon. But, as my moniker suggests, I've never been much of an accomplished fisherman. My wife loves to fish, so I accommodated her whenever I could. I loved to camp, hike and bike. I did, on occasion, fish and camp on Lake Austin.

Chuckle...

My grandmother took to faking dementia so that the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids would spend time recalling happy memories of who they were

Sadly, she's no longer faking... But still has her good days
Chuckle... br br My grandmother took to faking ... (show quote)

That's sad to hear, but you are fortunate to still have her and can still share those memories with her. I lost my last grandmother 20 years ago and I still miss her.

Should you have the chance to visit
North Carolina Fly Fishing Trail.
Areas with wild trout and with some stocked.
Jackson County contains 4,600 miles of trout streams and receives an annual stocking of 92,800 trout, which is the most of any county in the state. It also features the state's longest contiguous stretch of N.C. Mountain Heritage Trout Waters. Jackson County is the home of the state record for the largest rainbow trout ever caught.
Complimentary fishing maps and lodging details are available by contacting the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce at 828-586-2155 or the Jackson County Tourism Development Authority at (800) 962-1911.
