A shot gun or pistol is all anybody needs for that purpose. This kind of semi automatic, with a high round capacity magazine has been used in multiple shootings and other murders. I believe that my grandchildren have the right to grow up without fear of this kind of crazy. I am certainly against bringing firearms to peaceful protests. We all saw what happened to the Capitol when Trumps merry band of t*****rs and s******nists tried to o*******w the US government by invading the capitol with blood in their eye. Not good. I'm not a fan of open carry in any large city.

In one sentence you say the 2nd guarantees. Then you start with the old "only need a shotgun". You're the kind that would give up wh**ever they tell you that you aren't allowed to have. And rat out your neighbor.

Exactly. He and his ilk are the biggest enemy law abiding citizens that own guns have to beware of. Nothing worse than a progressive doing something fo your own good.

See Salty, this right here is why people like me shake our heads at people like you.

You want to do away with my AR-15, but my Ruger Mini-14 is ok to have.
Why? Because it LOOKS different.

At least Peter S had the balls to say that he wants all semi auto firearms banned. Which, technically, would include double action revolvers.

I have semi automatic 22's and a 17 HMR that have ten round mags, I've told people it isn't the gun, it's the person shooting it, and the people who think extensive damage couldn't be done by a guy using a semi auto 22 with 20 ten round magazines and 200 shots has a rude awakening. Heck, my competition .45 with ten easy to carry 8 round mags is 81 shots.

I got a Ruger mini-14 heavy barreled target model in .222 because it's the same thing, just skirts the scary black assault rifle stigma. I use mine for coyote control...call them in, drop two and a third running. Ten shots does the job just fine for three at a time.

I say this to show that there are dems that are pro gun, and I absolutely support background checks

Tracked? So what? Who's going to track it and how? Will criminals register their guns or ammo? This drives me nuts. It is not legal gun-owners committing crimes. Who defines reasonable? You. A few years ago when I was vacationing in Jamaica (mon) a British couple told me that they were having more homicides in London by knife than N.Y. was by gun. I looked it up. They were correct.

LOL that's right, NY has ZERO tolerance gun laws! One of the safest cities in the US especially per capita for population. So yeah they're correct.
States with the Most Safe Cities
City and state standouts
New Jersey dominates the list for the second consecutive year with 25% of the safest cities in the country—but only one (Bergenfield) made it into the top five. Bergenfield also claimed the number three spot among the Garden State’s safest cities of 2020.
Massachusetts had the second-highest number of cities on the list, with 15. Hopkinton slipped from number one last year to the number two spot—but it stayed on top as the safest city in Massachusetts for the second year in a row.
The remaining states with big showings include Pennsylvania (12 cities), New York (10 cities), and Ohio (8 cities).

Notice they're all Northern States, just saying.

Kinda missed the point. London’s gun laws are stricter than N.Y. City. Talking of cities you might want to change your opinion. These cities are run almost primarily by Democrats with the strictest gun laws.

Did you simply pull that number out of your, um...head? I think not considering Hitler was able to round up about 10 million people in a relatively short time, many underground, I'm sure we could do the same with guns, at least most anyway.

Let's stick to the topic shall we, guns and no I'll let the stats speak for themselves, especially if you want to take a birdseye view of the US overall gun violence other non hostile countries. We're off the charts in comparison, some countries have massages before boarding a plane how they are risking they're life visiting us.

Don't give me this anti dem party crap please. Show me how they are more strict otherwise it's simply hearsay.

Look it up yourself. Chicago and NY city have some of the harshest gun laws in the country. I don’t give a damn about other countries. They have plenty of violence. Guns aren’t the only way one can die.

Progressives will truly never understand the Founders thinking behind the 2nd Amendment.

"I don't believe that people with an IQ score of 60 wouldn't fully understand what you are talking about."
Afraid I do not know what this has to do about a gun control discussion.

"I am not a gun nut person."
Exactly what is a 'gun nut person'?

"Nobody is going to take away your gun."
Some people - including political figures - have said that is exactly what they want to do. But understand: Guns do not have to be banned in order to be rendered 'useless'. They can be legislated to death.

"I have no problem with the govt. doing away with citizen ownership of military assault weapons like the AR 15."
A military assault weapon is simply a semi-automatic rifle that looks different.

"A shot gun or pistol is all anybody needs for that purpose."
Your opinion. The Second Amendment is not about what you think are 'needs'.

"This kind of semi automatic, with a high round capacity magazine has been used in multiple shootings and other murders."
Handguns account for about 64% of murders.

"Trumps merry band of t*****rs and s******nists"
TDA rant of no substance.

I have a big problem with the government wanting to ban semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15. Great fun to shoot. It is semi-automatic, so what's the problem? Of all gun murders, rifles are responsible for less than 4%.

Sounds like an appropriate thing to me, now when your gun is stolen it can be tracked just like your car. Yes only certain ammo and weapons should be allowed, that is *Reasonable*!!!! Guns K**L people!

And exactly what benefit is there in 'tracking' a stolen gun? Finding out who owns it after a criminal has used it? How does that help? Is the ROI worth it (check out Canada's gun registration expensive and essentially ignored gun registration scheme)?

No - allowing citizens to be permitted only 'certain' weapons and ammo is unreasonable.
