Would it be unfair of me to ask what institution of higher learning you talk at students for? You talk so much like a college professor who thinks that others have to believe him that I just can't stand not to ask that question. It was your last two sentences that convinced me of what you are.

It pains me to confess that I wouldn't turn down a cushy job like that... But no. Maybe it's a product of me reading too many books written by preachy know-it-alls who think they've got it all figured out. Their verbiage must have washed off into my language parser subroutines. And HELL YEAH, I just passed the Turing Test YET AGAIN! WOO HOO!

How cushy is that kind of job? I ask that because one once told me that he h**ed me and a woman who demanded he give us the course work for 4 hours of credit rather than the 2 we could have. That meant he had to meet with us four days a week instead of the 2 with others around. He had to at least brush up on the books he told us to read.

That class was one of the best summer sessions I have ever had. We did read a book each day of the four but when I guessed right and read ahead it wasn't bad since the weekend gave plenty of time. The man finally said something that indicated his conservative belief but he managed to hide it quite well before that. Of course, I was 44 at the time and we were good friends after that session. He wanted me to come back full time and go for a masters degree in American History so he could be on my committee. Things weren't so political back then in 1977 as they are today.

I am assuming you h**e Alternet due to their unrepentant bias, but you know something's up when THEY go after those liberal colleges and the Washington spending that fuels them...

Hot damn, Alternet cutting down presidents of public universities. Where in that thing did I see anything about university professors? I failed to see that part.

Just plain profs and other teachers never get paid like the administrators do, kind of like the United States government.

I failed to see whether those schools were liberal in bias but agree they probably are. At any rate the cushy job of a professor doesn't usually involve a private jet to t***sport them from spot to spot on the campus.
