I too live in Alabama always have, so yes I recognize r****m I was raised with it. You push liberals as evil when we all want close to the same things jobs, safety for our families and food on the table. I can't or won't say all conservatives are bad people, I know to many of them and we think pretty much alike except on some political issues. I frequently fish and are good friends with one man who is as conservative as they come but we respect each other and don't try and shove our believes down each others throats. We rarely ever discuss politics so we talk about things we do agree on, how to catch a big stringer of fish. That in itself brings us closer as friends and Americans. No this is not all about one issue it's about wanting to hear the things we believe.

W***e s*******y is only a part of this, it's not all by a long shot. Like I said to justify actions that are against the norm or in this case against society, people will bond with others because they think alike. We're all guilty of this, it's human nature to want to hear what you think, be it right or not. Example on this site when you mention the what happened at the capitol conversation quickly swings to the summer r**ts. I in no way condone either but because some believe what they did at the capitol was right others who think like that will condone the crime's of others and and ignore crimes committed by people who think like them.

Comparisons make for good deflections...

On the other hand, calling out hypocrisy is a valid argument...

My comparison of the summer r**ts and the Capitol were not meant to be a deflection,
the comparison was meant to extenuate the point of groups thinking alike bonding and justifying their actions. Ive said this before on this site I do not condone violence in any form and anyone participating in it should be punished liberal or conservative. We live in a society and owe our fellow man civil actions. Anything else will devolve to chaos.

I don’t think it really matters given the number of deaths now being reported either intentionally or leaking, one way or the other one of them is gonna k**l you...(eventually)

Politics is but one facet of life. In the scheme of things it happens to fall as one of the lowest for me. Then again I happen to believe living life loving every minute of it is more important than anything else..

I do live by the fact though that as a government expands liberty contracts.

I read about a man who broke his leg and limped while in a cast. he walked his dog every morning even in the cast and crutches. Well the dog after a short time started limping on one leg just like the man. After a visit to the vet the man was told the dog had nothing wrong with his leg. When the mans wife walked the dog it walked normal but next day with the man the dog limped. This was an example of what I'm getting to, even the dog wanted to be like it's owner so it sympathy limped when walking with the man. We are a lot like that dog, we want others around us to be/act/think like us

Fair enough. Ever noticed how your dog always knows when you’re not feeling well and will sit in your lap for hours on end? That’s sixth sense works wonders. Unconditional love sustains all things.

Amen Lindajoy, amen! If we all could learn unconditional love sustains all things, we would all be in a much better place.

Democracies are always on the brink of destruction. At some point it happens to all powerful nations. We won't know it until it happens. At various times the US was on the edge of the cliff, but did not fall off. The American Civil War was the greatest example.

I have studied the falls of Rome, the Byzantine Empire, and the various Mesopotamian Empires. Mostly it is about resilience. Rome is the most easily examined. The disasters that lead to it's demise were not any worse than the disasters that occurred early on. The Gauls sacked Rome. The wars with Carthage. The s***e revolts, the most famous was the Spartacus S***e Revolt.

In all of those setbacks, Rome recovered and always came back stronger. Going into the later Empire period, Rome lost it's resilience. Why ? I don't know. You could say it lost it's unity, but many times in it's early period it was disunited and subject to the whims of powerful nobles.

When we come out of the C****a Period, we will see whether the US has any resilience left.
