Absolutely not. Maybe the toher way around.

I was wondering, does a smoker actually have a greater chance of complications from C***d because of what smoking has done to their lungs. Is there any studies on this that anyone knows of? Just curious. I don't smoke but spent a lot of time in smoke filled bars in my life.

Logically Right

Yes,much greater chance of complications than non-smokers . .. That's why people who need lung t***splant may not get them unless they quit smoking . ....

If they can afford it...

Personal opinion...

Alternatively, young smokers are of greater value to society than elderly retirees... And smoking is legal..

Perhaps it should depend on their employment status...

Being old is also legal. Smoking damages the lungs on several levels. It can destroy and disrupt the inner lining of the lungs in such a way as to make expectoration difficult, reduce the amount and quality of the sputum you produce, decrease circulation to the lungs, Every time a person smokes, there is a response to the nicotine and other chemicals that makes your capillaries contract. You can easily look up the adverse affects of smoking. And for you male smokers here on OPP, it can also quench your libido and render you unable to 'do it.'
Smoking is optional, aging is not. But once we old foggies are v******ted, I have no problem with v******ting smokers as a lower level of priority. Once you get a smoker on a ventilator, it can be extremely difficult to wean them off it, depending on the level of their of damage from smoking. The mix of a smoke-damaged lung and C***d can be a nightmare.

Absolutely Not, Smokers choose to put their health at risk every time the lite up, you can't choose if you age unless you choose to die and those people won't need a v*****e.

Motorcyclists..

Obese folk...

Alcoholics...

Type 2 diabetics...

Literally anyone who can't run a mile...

There's a host of people who willfully engage in unhealthy activities... But they're all lawful... Where does society get the moral authority to allow an activity, then penalize an individual for engaging in it???

While I agree with your pretense of moral authority, The question was should they get priority over the aged. Priority shouldn't be given to those who willfully engage in things that knowingly will cause an early death. People know when they take these chances know they put themselves at risk and should not go to the front of the line or miss their turn in line, they should be treated equally.

Myself I don't drink, don't smoke, eat healthy, not obese, not diabetic and can run over a mile but have a genetic heart condition and trouble with my lungs from a childhood illness, that said I don't believe I should go ahead of the elderly or those on the front lines of the p******c. I've also had the v***s, I wore the masks, kept my distance and followed the guidelines and know how this v***s can affect people in my shape, not surprised the older folks are dying from it and faster than the young and fit.

Elderly smokers should be priority #1.

Type 2 diabetics is a disease! It is NOT because of an unhealthy activity! Maybe a little more research! 👿

Our son-in-law is a healthy 50 year old that has never drank, never smoked, and has never been over weight! He is a picture of health except for a very serious battle with his disease! He and our daughter and 15 yr granddaughter had the v***s......both adults were in bed for a couple of days, our granddaughter only had a HEADACHE!

Another bit of info on diabetes! I have a very mild version! There are days that I don’t have to take any medication.......and it has nothing to do with my diet! I eat sweets almost everyday....always have, especially chocolate! My Dad’s nickname was Slim which explains my metabolism. My point.....it is a disease and in my case, was expected. It is very prevalent in my family! I inherited it.....like millions of others! 🧐

A diet can effect a person’s blood count, some more than others, especially if the person is unhealthy to begin with........but don’t compare type 2 diabetes to a person who chooses to ride a motorcycle, eat too much, who can’t run a mile (another questionable statement), or who drinks excessively! Those conditions are chosen, diabetes isn’t!

Doesn’t sound very Christian of you!.......but it does sound like something they would practice in China.......of which you are making it more clear every day how much your opinion agrees with that of your government! 😳

So far, in America, we don’t choose who lives or dies according to their value to society or their age......especially a Christian who is guided by the Holy Spirit and the lessons of the Bible! 👿🇺🇸🙏🏻
