Please pardon, my brain grabbed my hand to post this.

I want a number 3 pencil. The lead is harder.

Matters not the pencil's lead. Only matters on shoving it in to the brain housing group. That seems to short circuit all thought.

I hope my rant on "WEAPONS" and "CLIP" didn't offend anyone, I understand that in some cases in time words do change, but my point in my mind at that moment of lucidity under stress was just that it seems we are entirely too focused on how much we can get away with by twisting and perverting words to meet our current agenda or intent.
I have often argued with my only daughter who is far more educated than I about the term "ANIMAL" back in the day, if we caught someone like the gentlemen who pulled of the colorado theater shooting or the baby k*****g doctor of late press, or any number of other atrocities we would have labeled them an "ANIMAL" and called it a day, now I get craporama from her liberal left wing leaning college brain about using the term to describe another "HUMAN BEING" she rails on me and I rail back about how only an "ANIMAL" would do such a thing and then I hear it, all about the poor boys childhood, and how his mommy treated him or how he was prolly bullied in school, or yada yada yada, cant win she just doesn't get it, so my apology to anyone offended by my carry on about
"CLIPS, MAGAZINES OR ASSAULT WEAPONS"
thank you for you time and consideration in this matter.

AuntiE,

I agree with your analysis via Websters'. However, I have an issue with the scope of that message. Do you think that the Second Amendment guarantees everyone in the USA the right to any weapon, knife and spear or RPG, Abrams M-1, etc.? If not, where is the line? The current school of thought in the Supreme Court is that the Constitution is a living document. That means that it must grow and change with current meanings and practices. But, does current practice, at least according to the NRA, mean that we now want everyone fully armed? Against what, exactly? It's supposed to be for resistance to a tyrannical government or a foreign power, or so I thought. So are we preparing to o*******w the government? Let me know if that's the plan. Art
AuntiE, br br I agree with your analysis via Web... (show quote)

The second amendment reserves to the people the right to possess those arms peculiar to an individual, a side arm and a shoulder weapon of a kind and caliber in common use at the time and commonly available in the community. It does not include those weapons that are specially and exclusively ordered by government contract to supply army and naval forces.

These common weapons you refer to include, of course, the semi-automatic rifles which resemble the M-16, AK-47 and M-14. I refuse to call these firearms, incapable of selective fire, "assault weapons."

100% correct. No se*****r switch for full auto or burst fire, no ASS sult. They get all upset on how it LOOKS, not on how it functions.

Yes, that's surely true. we have a right to possess the means to our defense equal to what we may have to face in doing so. Therefore AR15, Mini 14, M 16 and all like weapons are legal.
