Not at all. It was not offensive to any group whatsoever. It said the Lord loves a cheerful giver. Nothing offensive about that.

You could try contacting your local Bar Association. They may be able to suggest a few attorneys that would be a good match for your case.

Actually, I'm wondering if a cop who wrote me the citation is even going to file it. When he showed up and ask for my ID, he didn't run my ID. So I'm thinking he was doing it just to screw with me. It's happened before.

I don't know how often it happens, but I've be told that on many of the minor misdemeanor cases the officers often fail to appear in court because the penalty is a small fine and they don't see it as worth taking an officer off the street just in case they need to testify on something so small. I'd still show up. If the cop isn't there, your attorney should move for dismissal. Good luck. Sounds like some cop just wanted to show you who has the power.

I know that and you know that, but there are some cops who think just because they have a badge they have authority next to God. No matter has good the screening process a police department has, a few of these types get through. I'm lucky that I live in a small town and acquainted with both of our officers.
