Yep.
That is a problem.

SSDD, how many people were at the protest/r**t? How many were found with zip ties (one)? I assume to you think this guy was the “leader” of the “i**********n and was going to takeover the government. Please use common sense. We all agree what happened was wrong and the r****rs need to be punished just as the r****rs last summer. We should condemn ALL violence. Conservatives simply want EQUAL justice and we don’t see it. Have a good day.

Don't need one at home, dear.

Please wear one when in public where social distancing is difficult or awkward. I understand 2-3 representatives have new cases of C***d19 because r****rs AND Republican representatives refused, even in this confusion, to wear masks offered them by security once herded into a room together for safety.

Instead, they ridiculed their colleagues concerns.

Amen to that!!! Although I’m s**k of them and think we need an entirely different group of people in office. Everyone says it’s not a business but I damn well believe it is a business, business is what makes the world go round, running it the way we have been obviously isn’t the answer so it’s time to truly change it up.

Well said, Lindajoy!! What you describe is exactly the problem. For years now the left has denigrated and demeaned everything about the right. We cling to our "guns and bibles". We cling to the "past". We "don't understand today's world". We "worship" violence and non inclusive behavior. If a celebrity leans conservative they are blacklisted. If a professor or teacher leans conservative they are systematically removed from the "system". Media talking heads aren't allowed to be conservative, unless they work for Fox. So who's noninclusive again?Conservatives have been marginalized in this country for years, in ways big and small. I, personally, am done tolerating it. And done tolerating conservative "representatives" who shrink back - always - and don't represent their constituents. And done tolerating colleges that present one facet of society as good and virtuous and another facet as ignorant and backward to our youth. Conservatives being ever patient and tolerant have brought us to this impasse. I'm done being patient and tolerant. And I know I'm not alone.
Well said, Lindajoy!! What you describe is exactly... (show quote)

You are not alone debeda!

Nope... No rock... And I agree.... The i**********n was the result of many things.. Trump was but a single factor...

Agreed. I always said Trump is a symptom of a larger problem.

Canuckus Deploracus wrote:

I doubt you could find a pack of quotes, or even a handful, that support your theory...

Disagree. In the aggregate, four years of incendiary comments and tweets goes a LONG way toward my theory that Trump gradually developed a false narrative that can be identified as a major cause of the i**********n. We can take that all the way back to when he lied about Obama not being born in the U.S. Also, I did already give you one quote where Trump actually suggested that people resort to violence and that he would pay for the legal cost.

Look, we both know that people were already frustrated with our government before Trump even came along. R****m, which is yet another factor, also predates Trump. Then you have the plutocracy which for decades has been neutralizing all attempts by Americans to gain control over their own destiny by engineering a false divide right through the 99%. These things were already there.

Now, Trump was never an innovator... His business experience is mostly limited to buying and selling. His experience as someone occupying the Oval Office falls into this same pattern. He took pre-existing resentments and frustrations and amplified them through an endless stream of comments and tweets.

What Trump did was leverage these frustrations to reinforce that false divide through the 99% and yes that very much makes him part of the problem.

Canuckus Deploracus wrote:

So instead you resort to add hominem and deflection.... (I realize there was no actual ad hominem, but neither was there can straw man in my earlier challenge)...

I guess, thanks for accusing me of something while simultaneously admitting that the accusation is false. I can't say that's ever happened to me before - lol.

As for the strawman... well, no offense Canuckus but yes there WAS a strawman in your earlier argument or maybe I should say in the meme you posted. The meme implies an irony that of all the quotes the one that seems most peaceful is the one that the left is saying started the violence, making that claim the target of attack.

Since the left never said any such thing about that specific quote, the attack is focused on a non-existent target which is the very definition of what a strawman is.

Canuckus Deploracus wrote:

America will never heal while people continue to play victim and seek to regulate blame to a single individual rather than accepting personal responsibility and holding themselves to their own stated standards...

I quite agree.

If Trump wanted a seige we would have had a seige and toppling of the Capitol with all the deserved arrests made and Biden and his t*****rs thrown in jail or worse, not the piddly little walk through that occurred.

So whatcha smokin' there Mikey?

Look, I've been saying this for a while now... The deplorables are just not capable. You folks seem to think it's a matter of guns and attitude and that just makes me laugh my ass off. Once again, I will repeat myself... you need brains!

If you take a revolution, keep the guns and attitudes but remove ALL the intelligence, that "little walk through" is what's left... A mob of selfie-taking morons walking around aimlessly because once they break in, they have no clue what to do. They're i***ts.

I really don't know what you want amigo and I have doubts that you do either. I get impression that you just want to "kick ass". If that's really all you want then join the next assault... See if you can kick some ass before you get arrested. (or beat up by a****a) But if you really want to affect a change, I would suggest you invest in better intelligence.

The Left is monopolizing social media now, and blocking out all conservative commentary.
They need to.

Yes, they need to preserve their integrity as an open platform. You can't do that by allowing h**e speech and s******n on your network. Every network has a set of rules. How many posters on OPP have been suspended because of a violation of the rules? This is just the way it works eagle.

The reason why the left is monopolizing social media is that almost everyone who has managed to build a successful network *IS* a liberal.

The right can continue to b***h and moan about it or they can start building their own networks with their own rules. No one is stopping them.
