The secret service has everything to do with every second the President spends in the public not to mention that he is Commander and Chief so why would you not think they had no control of his surrounds. That's not really very logical. It is also illogical to come on a thread someone else started and tell them to "go bother someone else"
You are definitely not on your game today J.

Oh yeah, I forgot those banners are very very very dangerous. Give me a break.

This is a public forum. Where did you get that idea? My point was if I think something is rubbish I don't waste my valuable time on it. The title was very clear about what the article was about. Have you no self control?

Wh**ever you say. You really aren't making any sense and don't seem to have a point that you are trying to make. Have a nice day.

Wh**ever you got off the back of a comic book does not count. Those of us who ACTUALLY served, can smell a f**er, even through the internet. I say keep flapping those lips, because soon, even the clueless will see through your BS. You'll do yourself in, without any action on my part at all. :P

Do you really believe the secret service has no say about the surroundings of the president.

Patty, if it presents no imminent danger to the President the Secret Service will take no action. As it is likely the sailors placed the banner and it presented no imminent danger, they would not have taken the time nor effort to have it removed.

You are the one who brought up the stupid ass banners. I just corrected you that Bush never encouraged the attitude of "Mission Accomplished" Still no point to make I see or is it that you are trying to start an argument with yourself.

Explain that to J. I never brought up anything about banners. That's his rant.

Prove I am a f**er a**hole! I did over twenty years in the Navy, moving through the enlisted ranks into the officer ranks a**hole. I also served in Vietnam in 1968, supporting river boats out of Vung Tau. So, prove I am a f**er a**hole! Are you willing to make a wager on it? And, I don't mean a paltry little wager, it has to be worthwhile. Interested? Yeah, that's what I thought, all mouth. FU!

You're the one flapping his rubber lips, and spewing nothing but bullsh*t. We already see through you, pal.

Now, about that wager....

I guess we have to conclude then that you are still unaware that you were sent to war on purely fabricated events and have no problem with those practices that k**ls the sons and daughters of the less financially advantaged are continued for corporate profits.
So which is it? Are you a f**e or uninformed?
"On August 2, shortly after a clandestine raid on the North Vietnamese coast by South Vietnamese gunboats, the U.S. destroyer Maddox (conducting electronic espionage nearby) was fired on by North Vietnamese torpedo boats. Two days later, in the same area, the Maddox and another destroyer reported that they were again under attack. Although these reports now appear to have been mistaken, Johnson proceeded quickly to authorize retaliatory air strikes against North Vietnam. The next day he gathered congressional leaders and, without divulging the circumstances that might have helped provoke the torpedo attack, accused the North Vietnamese of “open aggression on the high seas.” He then submitted to the Senate a resolution that authorized him to take “all necessary measures to repel any armed attack against the forces of the United States and to prevent further aggression.” The resolution was quickly approved by Congress; only Senators Wayne Morse of Oregon and Ernest Gruening of Alaska v**ed against it. Later, when more information about the Tonkin incident became available, many concluded that Johnson and his advisers had misled Congress into supporting the expansion of the war".

Patty

You do not need to educate me on the "Gulf of Tonkin" incident, I was stationed aboard a troop t***sport moored in Subic Bay PI at the time. Many of us in the Navy (on the west coast anyway) were puzzled over what happened in the Gulf of Tonkin. I remember reading some of the message traffic, and a lot of it didn't make sense. LBJ diasgreed with Kennedy over Vietnam. Kennedy only wanted advisors in country, and even planned on removing them. But, his assassination ended that plan. LBJ was an evil man, and he wanted a war. We would have won that war early, if he would have let the generals fight the war, instead of the politicians. We never lost a major battle in that war, but the democrats managed to lose it for us. The Democrats had a chance to hang a lost war on a Republican president, and they took it.

I enjoy many of your posts, and you're spot on in many of them. I just disagree with all this conspiracy crap about Corporate greed, and big greedy politicians, starting wars, etc. We get into many wars with honest intentions. I thought the Iraq War was a just war, as we fought the radical Islamists on their turf, not ours...we decimated them too. Thanks to the Democrats, and Obama, we will be fighting them again, only this time it may be on our soil, if ISIS is not stopped. Will it take American blood to stop them, yes, sadly it will, it's just a matter where...their soil, or ours.

Wars are nasty, no doubt about it. But, if we just sit back and be isolationists, we will end up with wars on our soil. ISIS intends to do much more than conquer Iraq. Iraq is just a stepping stone to control the entire Middle East. Israel can slow them down, but will eventually fall (without help from us). And, it could most likely involve the use of nukes, as Israel will not go out quietly. Radical Islam's ultimate goal is to conquer the entire world, and they don't intend to settle for less. Wake up America.

Your paltry and pathetic attempt to anger me, just proves my case. I TOLD you, that you would do yourself in, you can't help yourself. One of the symptoms of a pathological liar is, their story gets more involved, with added irrelevant details AND an attempt to redirect the questioning back to the questioner. I don't intend to waste much time on you, as it would be pointless. I am not trying to convince you of anything, you're trying to convince ME. All I can say is FAT CHANCE!

So, have fun, my comic book hero!
