I have never thought about forgiving dead people. Forgetting is pretty easy. I think forgiving implies they are still alive so I reckon the answer is “no”.

Only after I k**led him or her as the case may be, and that could take several days even with power tools.

Send that person to be judged.

Your question is one that affords each person to examine themselves. Some of the answers are Old Testament and a few are New Testament. If it was murder then to murder the murderer would be against New Testament but in accord with the Old. The best way is to have the law of the country work with your help to get a conviction. If you believe the New Testament then remember that Jesus said, “Forgive them for they know not…”. My way of handling is to make the offender dead in my own mind. Then I have absolutely no interaction with that person for you cannot inter act with a dead person. If they are in the same room with you they are not there and you do not see, hear, or answer them. I believe it is shunning with a vengeance.

I already have.
I and my late wife have both forgiven the individual that k**led our 19 year old son in a hit and run situation.
That was in Redding CA. and he had just left the bar that his girlfriend was a bartender at.
He was about in his mid to late forties so it wasn't a kid. The State police told my wife and I that all of the patrons at that bar swore up and down that he was sober when he left the bar. The police estimated that he was traveling between 55 and 65 MPH when his truck struck my son. They told my wife and I that our son probably never new what hit him and that he probably died instantly. Not that that helped any.

I would hope I had the strength to forgive in those situations. When we think of what we've been forgiven for we should never think of holding back.
