Thank you. Why would I cast a v**e for a candidate that I don't want to be my president? When you choose the lesser of two evils, you're still choosing evil.

Because you would rather see that person elected than the one who is worse. I don't see how that's not a good option. Maybe it isn't the one you would prefer but there are many choices in life that are made on that basis. I see not participating as a coward's way out.

Good points...

How about this

I wonder why trump indemnified himself at the rallies? You had to sign a waiver, stating that you will not sue if you got the v***s at a trump event. I guess he knew about the dangers.

Here's the interesting thing about that, it makes the important numbers, which are how many positives out of however many tests are being done go down. Tests, no matter how many are being done, with an assumption that lots of people besides those with symptoms or reasons to be tested are being tested, need to be down in the single digit positives to indicate a good handle on the region in case.

You are focusing on the numbers that are basically irrelevant, so what if a person gets tested a dozen times, that's a dozen negatives. The important number would be how many positives.

I think you are right, lindajoy, but it doesn’t make C***d19 any less dangerous and until a v*****e is available to all, probably by next spring, we need to work together to stay safe and healthy. Masks and distancing along with good hygiene will get us through this. This doesn’t have to be a d******e.

Hi Larry..

I believe the v***s is real just not all the hype to it..

That said, when I am out in the general public, grocery stores, malls etc. I do wear a mask and I do practice distancing..Its more along the lines of not wanting to infect others and a sense of peace for them knowing they aren’t, however functional these masks are, being exposed..

As for the v*****e I have no intention of taking it now or later.. Too new without adequate testing etc.. Much like the flu shot serving its host flu contaminants but not a barrier to all varieties... Works on wh**ever they developed it for it is not universal in prohibiting it all..

1.7% death rate from C***d.

You've once again managed to top 2000 cover deaths in a single day... With ever higher numbers of infections being reported...

And this is at a time when we have multiple strategies to combat the v***s... More effective pharmaceuticals... More knowledgeable medical workers... And auch greater awareness of how to prevent infection in the first place...

I just don't get it...

I need a test just to visit another city... And am still required to mask up if I go into the city... We're smack in the middle of the flu season and I'm on my second cold... Wife was just tested yesterday because she's travelling to the provincial capital for an examination...

I get daily updates on where there are infections... The numbers... And fill out forms to certify I haven't recently cone into contact with individuals from those areas..

It's like y'all are enjoying the bat flu...

I'm just stunned....

Sacrifice is never easy...

Coming into this late, but you present a good question and I haven't seen an straight answer yet. Yes, we have one of the worst infection rates in the world, so what's wrong with us? Well, the simple answer is politics. There is a share of our population that refuses to wear masks and remain socially distant simply because it's mostly Democrats asking them to do it.

Many of these people prefer to say it's because the demand infringes on their liberty. But they don't seem to have a problem with laws that tell them to wear seat belts so it seems more like an excuse to me. What I think it really comes down to is a middle finger.

And that would be OK, if this was a personal decision with no effect on others, but it's not. I saw your post with the photo of that restaurant's policy on masks... That policy is obviously based on the i***tic notion that wearing a mask should be personal choice. This conclusion is based on ignorance and selfishness. Ignorance of the fact that a mask isn't there just to protect yourself... it's there to protect others too and selfish because these people are putting their own personal choice above the safety of their neighbors.

Sure enough, the data is showing that the worst spikes in C****-** are in states where more people refuse to follow guidelines because of their political hangups. I dunno, maybe this is God's way of purging our nation of assholes and i***ts.

I'm glad to see this Linda. With all the hype about the v***s being a Chinese h**x etc... it's sometimes too easy to overlook the possibility that not EVERYONE right of center is a lunatic. My compliments on your ability to consider the health and yes, the "peace of mind" of the others you share space with.

I agree here to some extent as well... So does the Governor of New York for which he is getting a lot of flack from Trump.

But... not later? Not even if the v*****e proves to be effective across a large population?

I hear you and somewhat agree. However, are you content to let others decide for you because you don't know what to do? Failure to plan is planning to fail. I did not v**e for Trump in 2016 and was appalled when he won the nomination. I came in with a preconceived idea of who he was. It was based on media reports and I found him to be quite brash and brusque. But, I gave him a chance and I am generally happy with much of what he has done. It took some time for me to warm up to the way he acts and does things. I still cringe at much of what he says but I've come to realize that much of what he says is uncensored thinking out loud. It drives the left crazy because all they see and hear is LIES, LIES, LIES!

You are aware that Trump put into place a streamlined approval process for v*****es that he promised during the debates and that Biden discounted. He set up a distribution network through the U.S. Military Logistics Command. Big Pharma played politics by waiting until after the e******n to announce their v*****e. Actually, the v*****e was being developed in many smaller labs because Trump removed the red tape and restrictions that would have hampered their effort. They partnered with big pharma for manufacture and distribution. Trump made sure that money was available to all the invested parties involved. When I say Trump I mean his administration, not that he did this all by himself. If Biden had been President, or God forbid Hillary, I doubt there would be a v*****e this soon. It would probably be several more years before a v*****e would be on the horizon because they believe in Big Government Bureaucracy. They wouldn't have known what to do but Trump being a Businessman saw how to cut through the government red tape.

Anyway, I'm not asking you to change your mind and become a Trumpster. I'm only pointing out that two people can see things quite differently. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. I am going out in my RV for a week to camp at the beach with a few friends. I hope the weather is good. They are allowing 25% capacity at the campground. Seems more reasonable than locking down businesses and putting everyone under house arrest (Not that I would comply with that anyway.)

Regarding the races; I went to Del Mar several times last year. I don't know much about handicapping the ponies but I still enjoy the track with friends. My parents used to live right near Los Alamitos that would have night harness racing. Never spent time at Santa Anita. But through H.S. and a few years after graduation, I lived two blocks from Hollywood Park (Now SOFI stadium for the Rams and Chargers) by Centinela Valley Hospital. I actually spent more of my time at the Forum to see concerts and an occasional Kings Hockey or Laker's Game with Jerry West. Tickets were pretty cheap before the Showtime Days with Pat Riley and Magic Johnson. in the 1980s.

Great points again, DT.

I lived in LA for three years ('81 - '84) and went to Los Alamitos for night harness racing 3 or 4 times. Been to Hollywood Park many times, went to 4 or 5 Kings games when Gretzky was there, a few Lakers games and quite a few concerts, all at The Forum.

I hope you get nice weather at the beach (don't you guys always have good weather, lol?). Sounds like fun! Talk to ya' later.

Thanks for letting us know that you are not an American. Americans have leadership.
Especially in red states. The Democrats have no other plans, except lockdowns and masks. Leadership from Joe Biden? Where's Joe been? Certainly not out front.
Leading from the back is more like it.
The bolsheviks will get their comeuppance real soon. Will you be counted among them?
