In reality you are incorrect, perhaps that was more of a factor to start with, but to compensate for that, especially in red states, underlying conditions are being listed as the cause of death, such as COPD, pneumonia etc.

Then another big shift of what is considered c***d or not is the fact that if a person has not been tested they are not listed as a confirmed c***d death, say if they died at home and never got tested.

Once you guys get a rhetorical belief in your heads it never goes away does it? And the bottom line here is that you seem to miss that even if the number is exaggerated it is still a huge number of deaths...can you realize how ridiculous you sound trying to say a number like 250,000 has been exaggerated?

How about if anti maskers and c***d deniers avoid hospitals when they come down with it and simply stay at home and make it or die, because someone who denies it and refuses to wear a mask does not have any right to adding to the overloads in hospitals.

Very well said.

Discontent rises in Sweden as c****av***s cases spike

Cases rising
Results have been mixed. After a calm start, death rates in Sweden rose to among the worst in Europe before falling away in the summer.

Speaking at POLITICO's Health Care Summit on Wednesday, Sweden’s Health Minister Lena Hallengren said she was surprised by the attention her country’s p******c management plans have received. Being unique in any particular way was never the intention, Hallengren said. Instead, policymakers had been guided by the country’s scientists.

She also sought to put to bed one myth in particular. “We never had this kind of ‘herd immunity’ in our strategy,” the minister said, adding that although there was no lockdown, "we did manage to change ... our everyday life radically."

In July, Chief Epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said that Sweden’s approach had been as effective as a lockdown, and that allowing a slow spread of disease likely meant immunity in Sweden would be higher than elsewhere.

Sweden should therefore ride out a second wave better than nearby Finland and Norway, which dodged the first wave, he argued.

With such immunity now elusive, and Finland in particular seeing only a very limited rise in cases now, that argument has faded.

The 14-day cumulative number of cases of C****-** in Sweden roughly doubled to 557 per 100,000 people on November 17 from 272 on November 3.

So basically, you are agreeing that Sweden made the right call because their economy didn't suffer like others resulting in more suicides, higher drug use, the financial ruin of small businesses yet their infection rate is less than the United States.

Masks don't work if you don't wear them and they don't really work when you do wear them.

Since you have come back from several months absence, you seem much angrier than before, even after your side won the Presidency. I miss the old Cubby. Go Cards!

But if you want Trump out of there then you'll get Biden and Harris. Is that what you really want? You have to take a side no matter how distasteful it seems.

We aren’t enjoying it! Are you nuts? I’m masked everywhere I go which is to the hospital for treatments, the drug store for meds where I stand in line six feet from the next person and to the grocery store for food where they’ve put arrows to direct traffic. We’ve had zero deaths, 2 deaths back and forth for over a month. Haven’t been out to a restaurant since Feb.

I know, Carol...

You're one of those who have taken this seriously... Glad you are safe... God bless

Thanks Moldy, but I know were and why Textbooks are primarily printed. And, as I stated earlier, I am well aware of how history is used to push a political philosophy. N**i Germany is a good example as is the socialist movement here in the U.S.

Well, you've certainly opened another can of worms. One that Trump h**ers thrive on. They are not interested in "more effective pharmaceuticals" or "more knowledgeable medical workers" or a "greater awareness of how to prevent infection"; they are not interested in finding the solutions to v***l infections". You've only given them another opportunity to BLAME PRESIDENT TRUMP.

How are the number of C***d cases tallied? Testing, right? Is it significant that the US leads the world in testing? Currently, the US has tested the equivalent of 52% of our population, OTH, the two most populous nations, China and India, have tested 11% and 9% respectively.

You never heard this from the media.

Early on, when it became apparent the C***d p******c was a serious threat, president Trump acted to eliminate the onerous FDA regulatory restrictions that were obstacles to the research, development, trials, and production of v*****es. Prior to the p******c, the pharmaceutical companies had to overcome a long string of bureaucratic obstacles, jump through a bevy of hoops, and deal with mountains of red tape in order to get a specific drug or v*****e approved. On average, the time for a drug or v*****e to go from the exploratory stage to Phase III trials is 10 years. Add another 6 to 12 months before the drug is approved for prescription.

In March, on the heels of removing those obstacles, president Trump and his c***d task force launched Operation Warp Speed.

OWS is a partnership among components of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), and the Department of Defense (DoD). OWS engages with private firms and other federal agencies, including the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. It will coordinate existing HHS-wide efforts, including the NIH's Accelerating C****-** Therapeutic Interventions and V*****es (ACTIV) partnership, NIH's Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) initiative, and work by BARDA.

At least 7 pharmaceutical firms joined the effort. This is one of those capitalist things in which competition among companies produces results. And, in this case, without the bureaucratic red tape and restrictions.

P****r Inc. and BioNTech SE announced they will submit a request today, Nov. 20, to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for E*******y Use A***********n (EUA) of their m**A v*****e candidate, BNT162b2 against SARS-CoV-2, which will potentially enable use of the v*****e in high-risk populations in the U.S. by the middle to end of December 2020.

Bottom line is, because of Donald Trump's experience in the world of business, he was able to initiate a massive government/private sector cooperative effort to secure a C***d v*****e that got results in less than one year.

God forbid such a thing. The Trump h**ers want no part of a v*****e. They'll stick with lock downs, masks and social distancing in hopes of achieving a body count matching Hitler's, that way they can finally charge him with genocide and crimes against humanity.
Well, you've certainly opened another can of worms... (show quote)

You understand how pointless testing is if follow up measures aren't taken, right????

I mean, seriously, bragging about testing (much less than half the population... People are tested multiple times) as though that were some sort of success is just bizarre...

The tests are there so that infected people can be quarantined... Then contact tracing is conducted... More quarantined... All while the entire population is following guidelines to prevent the spread...

Just testing does dick all!!!

China would never waste the time and resources to test everyone... Only the areas where infections are found....

For example a dozen infections? in Qingdao led to the entire city of 5-6 million being tested over a five day period.... While in lockdown...

Actually it was the Democrat establishment who refused to take action in January/February. While President Trump closed down flights from China, and then the EU, the left, including Pelosi, Schumer, Cuomo, Biden, Harris, etc, etc were calling him xenophobic and r****t, while publicly telling people "come to Broadway, its perfectly safe" on one coast, and on the other "come to China town, its perfectly safe, dont be a r****t xenophobe like President Trump". So if not taking action in January/February is the problem, it lies squarely at the feet of Democrat leadership.

Except flights weren't closed down... Americans were still coming in from those nations and not being tested or quarantined...
