The Democrat run states take it WAY too far. I live in Illinois, and Governor Pritzker and Mayor Beetlejuice are nuts. They, of course, don't follow their own recommendations. Like Newsome in California.

I think that way back in Jan/feb a reasonable action would have been doable.. did not happen.. now we deal with the mess..

As for Dem govs... the South Dakota gov.. a republican/trumper.. encouraged normal activities and no mask/distancing or closing.. now SD has the highest per capita infection rate in the country..

A middle ground was needed..

I believe safety measures should be within reason, not so over reactive as to destroy local economies, deprive people of freedom of movement, keep children from school, etc.

Every time I go into Santa Monica and walk or drive up Santa Monica Blvd, seeing block after block of small businesses that were families' and individuals' livelihoods and sole sources of income now permanently shuttered because the proprietors simply couldn't wait out lengthy shutdown times, for example.

Where was the overreaction during the large flu p******cs or SARS? Liquor and grocery store owners and employees whose businesses were allowed to stay open are doing just fine.

Are we to assume that Democrat politicians conducted a medical study no one else knows about that concluded that grocery and liquor stores are C***d free, while all other businesses are natural incubators?

Or can we suspect that these local Democrats simply saw the opportunity to exploit a perfectly good crisis and do their share, in their small ways, to shut down some of the Trump economy?

I agree with you basically...

But the time for reason was last Jan/feb.. that time came and went.. some orange guy said he took no responsibility at all, and that like a miracle the 15 cases in the United States would disappear..

Past p******cs should have been view as a blueprint.. but some guy tossed the book and supplies out in the trash..

So in the tell all stage, you say this p******c which has k**led over 250,000 Americans is nothing but a democrat plot to make the orange fool look bad..

We did not need anything added to prove that fact.. the fool is gone and the wicked witch is looking for a job..

Actually it was the Democrat establishment who refused to take action in January/February. While President Trump closed down flights from China, and then the EU, the left, including Pelosi, Schumer, Cuomo, Biden, Harris, etc, etc were calling him xenophobic and r****t, while publicly telling people "come to Broadway, its perfectly safe" on one coast, and on the other "come to China town, its perfectly safe, dont be a r****t xenophobe like President Trump". So if not taking action in January/February is the problem, it lies squarely at the feet of Democrat leadership.

Sweden didn't shut down. They are doing better than most of Europe. Those with co-morbidities were the ones who stayed home instead of going out in public. The bad news is they did have cases of C***D but not more than anyone else. The good news is that businesses survived rather than being thrown into the turmoil of shut-downs and layoffs.

If masks work so well, why are we experiencing a resurgence? The people who should wear masks are the ones who test positive. But then, if a person is sick they shouldn't be going out and should quarantine.

This BS from the left of blaming Trump for everything is getting old. Kind of worn out. Why don't you guys show some common sense and try to at least listen to your h**ed "other side." You might actually learn something. It's difficult to make an informed decision if you continue to turn a blind eye to anything that militates against your sacred narrative. You talk about believing everything one hears from Trump. How can you say that when 90% of the media won't even allow publication or comment on what they have decided goes against their pre-ordained beliefs.

Don't forget everyone is from the left standing at the far right line. Hey jump in, we always have room for one more in the back. The Trump clown car is all filled up, and they have to make a pit stop to pick up some more hair dye. Bottle of red and bottle of brown.

Discontent rises in Sweden as c****av***s cases spike

Cases rising
Results have been mixed. After a calm start, death rates in Sweden rose to among the worst in Europe before falling away in the summer.

Speaking at POLITICO's Health Care Summit on Wednesday, Sweden’s Health Minister Lena Hallengren said she was surprised by the attention her country’s p******c management plans have received. Being unique in any particular way was never the intention, Hallengren said. Instead, policymakers had been guided by the country’s scientists.

She also sought to put to bed one myth in particular. “We never had this kind of ‘herd immunity’ in our strategy,” the minister said, adding that although there was no lockdown, "we did manage to change ... our everyday life radically."

In July, Chief Epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said that Sweden’s approach had been as effective as a lockdown, and that allowing a slow spread of disease likely meant immunity in Sweden would be higher than elsewhere.

Sweden should therefore ride out a second wave better than nearby Finland and Norway, which dodged the first wave, he argued.

With such immunity now elusive, and Finland in particular seeing only a very limited rise in cases now, that argument has faded.

The 14-day cumulative number of cases of C****-** in Sweden roughly doubled to 557 per 100,000 people on November 17 from 272 on November 3.

Legendary to the dems, perhaps. But news sources and videos from that time period prove that I am correct
