PETA found out that monkeys on a leash can pick around 400 coconuts a day and are then stuffed in cages until their next shift, the outlet reported.
CrazyEdit: that's how it's done...I have No problem with it, good monkeys git three coconuts and a hut.
Yet Costco is pulling products allegedly made with forced monkey laborThe alleged use of forced monkey labor has led Costco to stop selling Thai-made coconut products.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has been tracking such animal abuse since 2019, while urging retailers to pull merchandise made from the bad actors to discourage the practice, USA Today reported.
“No kind shopper wants monkeys to be chained up and treated like coconut-picking machines,” PETA president Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement, according to the outlet.
“Costco made the right call to reject animal exploitation, and PETA is calling on holdouts like Kroger to follow suit.”

well if that is the case Joe Biden should not work !!!! he should stay in his basement
We have been using animals ever since we domesticated dogs sometime sround 10, 000 bce. Having monkeys harvesting coconuts seems clever to me. There are mean people everywhere. I suppose some monkeys are mistreated. So, why dosent PETA stop the abuse in the countries it is happening in? That is not a good reason for a boycott. PETA is totally against all animal labor.

Exactly! He should remain in his basement and bang his symbols.

You will never get anywhere near my dog and my cat. People who are abusive towards animals should get back as good as they gave.
People Eating Tasty Animals (PETA) is at it again.
Lets release all cats and dogs to the wild. Sorry about my birds and winter time. They'll just have to go and die in the snow. Release your pet fish to the nearest stream. To bad if the tropical fish will die when it freezes, or they get eaten by a fat bass. No more horse back riding. Release them now. And no feeding of these newly released animals. That will discourage them from learning to forage on their own. No seeing eye dogs. But I will be happy to see these emotional support animals set free instead of sitting next to me on a plane. No more rats or mice used in labs to fight disease. No eating of any animal. No more milk for your kids. The cows were set free. No leather belt, or shoes. No f**e furs. That is appropriating the culture of animals.
I have a better idea. Let's eliminate PETA.

Not only that, but people who abuse animals also abuse people, sooner or later (think Jeffrey Dahmer).

I'm SHOCKED that Rose42 is good with hurting and abusing any creature.

Interesting... So these monkeys actually contribute more to society than a good number of protestors
Perhaps a trade

That only shows you’re ignorant and don’t know the difference between animal rights and animal welfare.

I’m not shocked you’d make such a more-on-ic assumption.

That ‘study’ was debunked.

I've studied the histories of some serial k**lers and many of them started out by abusing or even torturing animals, especially where cannibalism was involved.
On the other hand, we have an area of Sacramento called "Old Sacramento". It's mostly composed of restored buildings from as far back as the mid 1850's. Among other things, carriage rides are available, but about 5 years ago, some animal rights activists tried to have the rides banned, especially in the summer. They claimed that driving horses in that kind of heat was cruel to them, yet for thousands of years, horses were a major source of t***sportation regardless of the weather. Besides, the owners of those horses don't DARE to abuse or neglect them because those horses are often their only source of livlihood. If these activists had succeeded to have that ban imposed, not only would dozens of carriage drivers have been thrown out of work, but they would've been forced to sell their beloved animals. Far from abusing them, the drivers are very affectionate with their horses and that's why the ban on carriage rides failed.
