Permantlyfrost, Who is “we”? I like the poster about the right wing and the left wing being the same bird. The analogy falls apart when you realize the “body” of the bird is larger than either wing. Unfortunately for this country, that is no longer true.

as for cities and industry.. probably not fully.. but we are very close. amazon and some internet biz are scheduled to be fully renewable in a couple of years. new facilities being built designed for full power by renewable s..

And further it is not an either or situation.. we do not need to replace 100% of f****l f**ls at one swoop.. every little bit we can reduce dependence on f****l f**ls is a large plus for our planet and our lives..

Permanentlyfrosted, I agree. f****l f**l is a finite fuel and we should look for ways lessen our dependence on it. And I also agree it isn’t an either or situation. It is a shame the two parties refuse to work together on this issue.

Energy density is the term everyone should understand.

Wind and solar are not energy dense enough to efficiently power municipalities and the ones that rely on them still have to keep f****l f**l plants "spinning" to make up for power fluctuations. They can't just be "turned on" like flipping a light switch...or they have rolling blackouts like CA (such a joke!).

The vid is only 5 minutes but it addresses a lot in that time.

What I read is that solar panels and windmills are destroying the planet, not saving us.

Maybe "environmentalists" are betting that no spotted owls fly through the windmills and get chewed up, just birds that aren't on their endangered species list.

Perhaps a sign. "Spotted Owls: Do not fly through these whirling blades. Please fly around."

Johnny Poppers are a sight running. This one's a '46.

My granddad got it in CA. Why it was there I dunno. It was more the thing you'd find in the midwest at that time.

It's got a flywheel you can run a belt on.

Not the little ones people buy for their homes.

Solar plants and wind farms are the opposite of what I think solar and wind are good for.

Not now maybe...which is why it won't hurt to put a pin in the idea for the time being.

Individuals and companies that want solar panels and whirlybird windmills can still get them.
