Yeah yeah yeah Same old wacko rhetoric that registration of guns is the beginning of confiscation. That's just paranoid BS The gun situation in this country is completely out of control. When I was a school kid we fought with our fists. Now day's in some inner city school the kids have to pass through a metal detector to get in school And we have gun nuts doing open carry like the wild west has returned. When I become dictator any one caught with an assault weapon in their possession will be summarily executed with that same weapon.
Yeah yeah yeah Same old wacko rhetoric that regis... (show quote)

"Assault weapons," according to the US military definition, is "any weapon used in an assault." As I said, FBI statistics show far more people die from knives, clubs, and bare hands than your so-called "assault weapons." When I become dictator, I will issue a BOLO for you. If you are caught with hands in your possession, I will order you k**led with them. Summarily, of course.
I have not noticed any Wild West scenarios here. As a matter of fact, here in GA, where open carry is legal, we have fewer murders than in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Mexifornia. That must really chap your ass, when the Liberal and Enlightened State of LaLa Land, with all of it's gun control, has more murders than the "gun goober" guns everywhere State of GA. Matter of fact, if you discount Atlanta, which is where all the Yankees and West Coast weirdos live, GA's murder rate is substantially lower than LaLa Land's.

Bring on those guvmint fellows who want my arms. How long will it take them to determine why their friends are falling because the gun is pointed at them? This invention makes hunting and clay shooting so much quieter for those who use the gun for sport.

I have a weakness in my right hand, which may preclude my usage of such. :(

My First Amendment rights provide me the right to make any argument I wish on my Second Amendments rights.

By the way, as to your comment about individuals having mental issues not owning guns, hopefully, that includes you. There is nothing new in the rule concerning ownership by those with mental issues. The issue becomes, who decides. I have zero issue with those found, through legal adjudication, to be mentally unstable, not owing guns. I further have zero issue with those found guilty of spousal abuse being denied the right to own a gun. Obviously, you have no true knowledge of where the majority of gun owners nor the NRA stand on these issues.[/quot

Certainly you can write dumb stuff if you want to. I don't need to mention some f*cking amendment every time I write to make someone think I'm a big expert or patriot. Someone needs to have the job of deciding whose too crazy to have guns. But who's it gonna be? The NRA? All they do anymore is publish an anti government magazine that seeks to encourage violence. The supreme court makes i***tic decisions anymore. No help there. It's not hard for the average Joe to see if someone is outwardly nuts. For others who are not so obvious they're harder to weed out. There is no way you could expect a law to disallow mentally ill people from having access to firearms would not be subject to some abuse. We already have it when you buy the gun, check here if you're crazy. I'm sure crazy people are surely honest and check it. I guess the guy at the gun store in Colorado missed that when he sold stuff to the guy that shot everyone in the theater. I believe the idea behind this proposed law or laws to try to limit access to firearms is to construct a better system as far as firearm purchases, to know who's crazy when they try to buy a gun at a store. We could go on the way we are with this wild west, everyone pack a pistol country that the NRA wants, or we could try to do something about it.
Interesting you should bring up the Obama campaign worker in Aurora who shot all those people. As far as constructing a "better system," exactly how would you go about doing it? Who decides? Someone like you? I don't think so. Did you ever stop to think that only a tiny, tiny fraction of one percent of the firearms in private ownership are ever used to commit a crime? Did you ever stop to think that the US, worldwide, is not even in the top 20, murder wise? Our per capita murder rate, worldwide, is lower than any country in Africa, lower than Mexico, lower than any South or Central American Country with the one exception of Chile? Jamaica, where possession of a single cartridge, without even a gun to fire it from, is an automatic prison sentence has a murder rate ten times as high as ours? Or Switzerland, where people keep loaded fully automatic REAL assault rifles in their homes, has a murder rate of less than one person per hundred thousand?
Russia, where it is nearly impossible to legally own a firearm has far more firearms murders than we do. Mental Incompetence is a slippery slope. The current system which requires a court appearance to determine competence is there for a reason.

It's kind of a pain, using a 10 round clip to load my 30 round mags. I would have to use 3 of them.

You can already get 75 and 100 round drums. The reason that there are not 50 round "banana" magazines is that they are too awkward. I tried a 40 rounder once, and it was more trouble than it was worth.
